Behold your #Binibini32 Danica Acuña of Romblon and her Bb. Pilipinas National Costume created by Michael Barassi:
PERLAS NG SILANGANAN
(Notes from the designer)
Cerulean is the water that drapes the archipelagic province of Romblon. And this deep sky-blue hue hides within its chest pearls—pure, incorruptible, and wise as the queen who wears this attire.
Miss Romblon wears the color of the waters that surround the archipelagic province of Romblon, the stretches of white sand beaches which are, arguably, one of the best in the world. Adorned with pearls from her head to toe, she flaunts the serene beauty of these jewels of the seas and the elegance they signify. High above her head is the oyster shell that hides this lustrous gem, representing the hidden wisdom cultivated through years of toil, pressure, and hard work—one Miss Romblon wears loud and proud.
It is always a marvel looking at pearls—nurtured, cherished by the deep sea waters, as stunning as this empowered Romblomanon is.

Last night’s National Costume Competition of Bb. Pilipinas 2019 was a showcase of the best in the Filipino Designers and their world-class artistry, especially in creating both traditional and richly-creative masterpieces for their #Binibinis.
The Top 10 finalists have already been announced. Allow me to share four (4) more personal favorites which could have also made it had there been more spots to fill. They are just as fabulous – or significant – as the qualifiers. The scores must have been close, I reckon.
1) Nicole Guerrero of #IlocosSur in Michael Barassi’s tribute to the Philippine carabao
2) Ilene de Vera of #MandaueCity in Malayka Yamas’ tribute to the famous Cebu guitars
3) Honey Grace Cartasano of #Rizal in Paolo Ballesteros’ tribute to the “Magsusuman” of Rizal Province
and for patriotic reasons,
4) Samantha Poblete of #Cavite in Emar Vida’s tribute to the heroism of the Filipino and the rich history of the Province of Cavite.
Presenting another masterpiece of a National Costume from Michael Barassi:
Mark Kevin Baloaloa, the Philippine entry in Mister International 2019 currently being hosted in the country, will wear this show-stopping creation called #Bakunawa from the Visayan folkloric tale of the moon-eating dragon (read above for the complete explanation).
Watch the video clip and see it come to life during the international competition.

Presenting to you the “Ibong Adarna”-inspired National Costume to be worn in competition by Mister Universal Ambassador Philippines 2018 George Reylor de Lumen in New Delhi, India for Mister Universal Ambassador 2018.
The entire ensemble is created by Designer Michael Barassi who gave us the inspiration and description of his masterpiece below:
George has started his quest for the title that came so close to being captured by our representatives the last three years. Alexis Martinez placed Top 10 the first edition, Andrea Biondo got 2nd Runner-Up the next and Paul Guarnes was named 1st Runner-Up last 2017. Could 2018 be the year that we finally finish on top?
Let us wish him the best in his mission! Finals will be on November 24 in Arya, New Delhi, India.
