Miss Universe Philippines 2017 Rachel Peters is all set to invade the cover of Metro Magazine. And as part of the BTS videos that will accompany the drumming up of its online media presence, below is a brief video featuring her answering Miss Universe final Q&A questions of titleholders past.
Give me your impressions afterwards, dear readers.

Except for the letter “H” in their respective names, you really don’t see glaring differences between Bb. Pilipinas Globe 2016 Nichole Manalo and Bb. Pilipinas Grand International 2016 Nicole Cordoves. Both are hot
, as well as having the heart
to represent the country to the best of their abilities abroad. You can also describe their individual aura as hypnotic
So beyond the “H” in their first names, what could spell the difference between the two? Perhaps, one has the stronger halo over the other? You see, Nichole Manalo will be going for a (more challenging) back-to-back win in her quest for the Miss Globe 2016 crown, while Nicole Cordoves will be looking at nailing the first-ever Miss Grand International victory for the Philippines. Between the two missions, the probability of exacting an anticipated pageant glory is higher for the latter. Of course, we will always welcome #1 finishes for both.
In the vernacular now, “ano ang hula nyo?” (what is your prediction?).

The Bb. Pilipinas 2015 Queens in an inside beauty feature of Metro Magazjne's June 2015 issue (Photo credit: Rogelie Catacutan)
Metro Mag's June 2015 has Georgina Wilson and Solenn Heussaff as the other cover girls for this special issue.
If you still don’t have the June 2015 issue of Metro Magazine, then make sure you grab a copy now. You’ll be in for a double whammy of sorts. Aside from the beauty feature on our Bb. Pilipinas 2015 Queens – Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, Janicel Lubina, Christi Lynn McGarry, Rogelie Catacutan and Ann Colis
– the cover girl (at least one of the three in this special fashion issue
) is Fil-American Kelsey Merritt who is being buzzed about as possibly
joining Bb. Pilipinas 2016 under the Aces & Queens camp. Of course, it’s still too early to tell if she is indeed dead serious about making that move. But this early, it should fan the flames of excitement among pageant fans and followers who never cease to check out on all the potential joiners in the nationals.

By the way, this issue is a two-cover special (with besties Georgina Wilson and Solenn Heussaff as the other glossy front-liners
), but I suggest that you specifically pick out the one with Kelsey (above photo
) in that very furry shot. 😉
P.S. Below is a short vid of Kelsey showing some BTS of her shoot for Abby Jocson last April, 2015.

Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2015 Christi Lynn McGarry in her side shots during the Doc Marlon photoshoot
With Christi around, a selfie can’t be far behind
You should really look forward to the June 2015 issue of Metro Magazine where all the final shots of the Bb. Pilipinas 2015 Queens’ pictorial with Doc Marlon will be seen for the first time.
Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2015 Christi Lynn McGarry, very tall as she is, still stood out among the five ladies so she must have worn ordinary heels during the shoot to put some balance in the head lines. And I love her look during the same – exuding a temptress vibe that was beautifully captured by the lensman, even in her selfie. 🙂
One more look to the camera this way, Christi.
Miss World 2013 Megan Young on the cover of the December 2014 Holiday issue of Metro Magazine
Credits for the cover photo of Megan
Miss World 2013 Megan Young has a lot of worthwhile things to remember this coming month of December (the first day of which happens to be tomorrow
). Firstly, she is once more the cover girl of Metro Magazine and in its’ Holiday 2014 issue at that. It should now be available in your favorite bookstore, newsstand and digital download source.
Secondly, she will be relinquishing her Miss World crown to a new successor come December 14. That’s a bittersweet thought alright. But something that would give her more time to see through all the available post-reign career options. Sure, her contract with MWO will be extended, but nothing that would prevent her from chasing other dreams in the wide horizon.
Megan (first row, center) with all the Miss World 2014 contestants. And yes, with Valerie included now. Go find.
Finally, she will be back home in the Philippines more often. And regardless if she goes Hollywood or Bollywood, I still bet that her local presence will be more felt. Starting Christmas onwards, perhaps? 😉
Jodilly Pendre (left) and Katarina Rodriguez on the cover of Metro Magazine June 2014 issue
Jodilly proudly showing off the Metro cover.
Neither of them may have won Season 2 of Asia’s Next Top Model, but Jodilly Pendre and Katarina Rodriguez are now in full fashion bloom. Last April, their 2nd and 3rd place respective finishes in the model search gave quite a backlash to the show’s producers that the Filipino fans and supporters pointed to an undue favoritism of Malaysian winner Sheena Liam. But all of that is now water under the bridge.
For starters, Jodilly Pendre is hell bent on achieving top supermodel status faster than anyone else in their batch. And she must be doing something right so far. Her harvest of bookings for ramp, editorial and print photography projects has never been so bountiful. She is proving that post-competition engagements are more important in sustaining the familiarity that the show established on her behalf. And she is working hard to hit it big internationally.
As for Katarina, she has been quite visible in the limelight ever since the show ended. Aside from being picked by TRESemme’ as an endorser, she also gets her good share of fashion projects that has been keeping her busy. Her portfolio has been getting thick and options for showbiz-related gigs are being seriously considered. While options of pursuing higher studies in Economics were previously thought of as immediately possible, she is now taking advantage of the opportunity to make it big as an international model. If she does, then there will always be time to plan about more serious academic stuff when she gets older (and perhaps, wiser).
Watch out for more of Jodilly and Katarina in the months to come. Season 3 of Asia’s Next Top Model may have already started auditions, but their efforts during the sophomore batch will never go unnoticed. 🙂
