Justine Mae “Jaya” San Jose, Mutya ng Pilipinas by Onecho Gabinete
is “Good luck” in Bahasa Malaysia. And that is what we are wishing Mutya ng Pilipinas Tourism International 2016 Justine Mae “Jaya” San Jose as she competes in the finals of the last beauty pageant for this year – Miss Tourism International 2016/17 – which will wrap up with the crowning of a new winner on New Year’s Eve (or just shortly before the clock strikes 2017 tonight
) inside Marriott Putrajaya in Malaysia.
Jaya is in high spirits, especially after being informed by the organizers that she is always being noticed – along with the delegates of Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand – as the most active in social media. And this helps a lot not only in determining the Most Popular Special Award recipient, but also in measuring the power of reach that a potential winner can use if and when she becomes crowned as the next.

Jaya is especially motivated at the moment because her loved ones are already in Kuala Lumpur to support her bid. Add to that the fact Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International 2015 Leren Mae Bautista is also a special guest during the coronation. She will give it her all, trust me.
Once more, semoga berjaya, Jaya! 😀
The 12 ladies above are my current favorites for Miss Tourism International 2016/17
The Official Candidates during the Press Presentation
There are sixty (60) Official Candidates vying for Miss Tourism International 2016/17 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the moment. And one of them will take the crown on New Year’s Eve at Marriott Putrajaya where the finals is traditionally held almost every year.
In this year’s roster, I have made a selection of current favorites for the win. While it is still too early to pick a solid front-runner in the pack, I am giving twelve (12) ladies a good headstart. Hopefully, they can sustain the momentum until the coronation night.
My favored dozen as of this date are:
11) Costa Rica
Now watch a video of the Miss Tourism International 2014/15 where the Philippines’ Glennifer Perido placed 2nd Runner-Up and was given the special title of Miss Tourism Metropolitan International (a precursor of the similarly-named competition held in Cambodia more than a month ago).

One of our latest Queens has returned home. Fresh from her victory as Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International 2015/16 last December 31 in Marriott Putrajaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Leren Mae Bautista flew in at the NAIA Terminal 3 mid-day to a warm welcome from pageant followers and some members of the media.
Leren admitted that she didn’t expect to get the top crown because of the tough competition given by 56 other delegates vying for the same honor. But she promised to do her best, and was rewarded with the Philippines’ opening salvo for 2016 as she was named winner right before the start of fireworks for the New Year.
Expect Leren to make the rounds of TV guestings in the upcoming days. The Filipinos will definitely love hearing her own account of how she was able to make it.
Mabuhay ka, Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia-Pacific International 2015 and Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International 2015/16 Leren Mae Bautista! 😀
