Last Wednesday, two send-offs and one pageant launch were held at the Cabalen Restaurant inside Market Market in BGC.

First, there is Mr. Real Universe Philippines 2015 Mark Andrew Baron who is set to leave soon for Guayaquil, Ecuador to represent the country in Mr. Real Universe 2015. After him, Mr. Universal Ambassador Philippines 2015 Alexis Francis Martinez will follow as our bet in Indonesia for Mr. Universal Ambassador 2015. The international competitions will happen with only weeks in interval. By the way, both Mark and Alexis competed during Misters of the Philippines 2014.

After the two, the Manila-hosted Mr. & Ms. Pancontinental 2015 was also launched with the contest taking place during the second half of November. Pairs of male and female delegates from different nations will vie for the crowns.

It will really be a busy 4th Quarter, pageant-wise. And November will particularly be more hectic, what with the 10th Mister International also being hosted here, and Miss Republic of the Philippines in full swing as well. Whew! Is there any way I can clone myself for all of these events?

With the finals only a couple of days away (April 14 at the Tanghalang Pasigueno), here now are the guys I have short-listed as the ones who might figure out well during judgment night.

Aside from the main title, three (3) other recognitions will be handed out – Mr. Universal Ambassador
​Philippines 2015, Mr. Real Universe Philippines 2015 and Mr. Global International Philippines 2015 – all of which have their corresponding international pageant missions to compete in.

Since I am not very familiar with the international male competitions where the three other winners will be sent to, I am focusing first on the guy who stands a chance of nailing the Mister United Continents Philippines 2015 title who will take part in Mister United Continents 2015 to be hosted here in Manila late next month.

I am looking at Angono’s Reynaldo Cataluna III and Cebu City’s Reuter Hanz Velano for the top 2 titles. Both are veritable six-footers with that unmistakable international appeal.

As for the two other winners, I would like to see Candaba’s Ricardo de Jesus and Consolacion’s Christopher Joshua Ibañez getting the plum wins. Mabalacat’s Francis Alexis Martinez, Nueva Ecija’s Cris Edwin Navarro, Midsayap’s Kevin Dale Jovellano and Marikina City’s Ahmer Timothy Manalansang are potential climbers to the top.

mucp2015avb The twin set of activities for Mister United Continents Philippines 2015 was held yesterday inside Fisher Mall in Quezon City.

The Press Presentation of the Official Candidates was conducted first, followed by the Regional/Festival Costume Competition which had all the contenders garbed in their home provinces’ most creative traditional wear. The Top 5 Finalists for this part were announced, and they are the entries of Laguna (Victorio Bote), Midsayap (Kevin Dale Jovellano), Tacloban (Edviro Fuentes Jr.), Sultan Kudarat (Nikko Abdul) and Marinduque (Arcel Pacaigue).

The Darling of the Press was the first award to be handed out. Mr. Navotas City Mark Andrew Baron was named for this recognition.

The country’s first homegrown international male pageant – Mister United Continents 2015 – is here and preparations are shaping up fast for the inaugural edition to be hosted by the country on May 30.

Representatives from different countries are being named one by one. And by the looks of it, the organizers are serious in making this endeavor an event that will be boosted by the advocacy campaigns of each participating candidate.

muc2015a But before we give dedicated focus on the above, let’s aim the spotlight on the search for the Philippine bet for the competition first – Mister United Continents Philippines 2015 – who will be elected during the finals set for April 14 at the Tanghalang Pasigueno.

Final screenings have already been conducted. The twenty-five (25) qualifiers from the NCR leg will now join the six (6) entries from the Luzon and Mindanao areas, with the names of two (2) more from Cebu and Tarlac being awaited to complete the roster of Official Candidates. Alexis Martinez of Mabalacat, Pampanga acted in a monologue.

Joseph Doruelo of Caloocan City did an interpretative dance with a female partner. Mark Andrew Baron of Navotas City went for a solo.

Adam Davies of Fil-UK and Mario Esquierdo of Compostela Valley displayed their vocal chops, while Bap Petel of Davao del Sur did an acoustic number.

Patrick Dimayuga of Batangas and Bernard Sumera of Paombong, Bulacan sang and danced at the same time.

At the Primos Cuisine and Lounge at the HUB, Greenfield District last night, these eight (8) guys scored the highest in talent and were declared finalists in the category where the winner will get fast-tracked to the Top 14 which will be announced this coming Sunday.

Who will be Mister Talent in Misters of the Philippines 2014? We shall find out soon. 😉

misters During the Festival Costume Competition of Misters of the Philippines 2014 held at the Atrium of Fisher Mall in Quezon City, five (5) hopefuls wowed the crowd with their respective attires and were named Top 5 in the fast-track event. They are (in random order): Mark Andrew Baron of Navotas, Neil Perez of Tondo, Edviro Fuentes Jr. of Samar, Timothy Justin Ancheta of Quezon City and Patrick Dimayuga of Batangas.

One of them will be declared top winner on finals night and will automatically advance to the Top 14.

The strictly-by-invitation affair was exclusively conducted to acknowledge the attendance of accredited media.

Actually, the entries from San Luis, Pampanga (Glenn Suba) and UAE (Ibahn Corum Francisco) were still unaccounted for, so I hope to see them in the next event.

But from among the two dozen hopefuls who vied for the attention of the Press, there were actually eight who caught my eye – Neil Perez, Elvin Tiel, Joseph Doruelo, John Israel San Luis, Adam Davies, Nicko Cruz, Bernard Sumera and Judah Cohen. Three other entries – Ichin Daclan, Mario Esquierdo Jr. and Alvin Arranguez – could be possible spoilers to this group.

The set-up of the competition will have four (4) fast track event (Talent, Swimwear, Formal Wear and Resort Wear) winners getting automatically seeded to the Top 14 come finals night on September 7. Ten other guys with the highest preliminary scores will make up the remaining qualifiers.

Boyish charmer Mark Andrew Baron gets the full backing of Navotas in Misters of the Philippines 2014. The Social Studies major from the City of Malabon University used to be an active SK (Sangguniang Kabataan) Kagawad (Councilman) who swims, dances and plays basketball to keep up with an active lifestyle.

Another Education advocate, Mark wants to “…spread the importance of Education to our youth. I also want to became a role model to them. I want to be an inspiration to them and become an example in being a God fearing and a family-oriented person, a good public servant and also a patriotic person.”

markbaron41 With dreams of becoming an effective Public Servant in the future, he wants to work for the welfare of others. At the moment, though, he is keen on bringing out the best in his looks and personality to be able to register a good showing in the male competition. If he is fortunate enough to win, then the responsibility of representing the Philippines is something he will seriously take to heart.
