Here are photos from the event where Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo was formally welcomed by Frontrow to its family by Raymond Francisco and Sam Verzosa.
Fellow candidates Kim Crizaldo, Mariel Joyce Pascua and Adelma Krissel Palomares Benicta joined her.
Rabiya wore a Bea Bianca gown, with makeup by Gery Penaso and hair by Mark Anthony Sto Domingo-Rosales. Styling by Briñas Rodel.

There were only ten (10) ladies in Part 2 of “Game Changer” for the Miss Universe Philippines #RingLightSeries – from Catanduanes to Iloilo Province.
I must say that I’m on the fence in picking my Top 3 in this group because – from where I watched – only Billie Hakenson of Cavite acquitted herself most convincingly. She speaks with full conviction and her focus was unstinting.
But that’s not saying less of the outputs shown by the nine others. Perhaps, it’s like summarizing that the rest are on equal footing. Nobody disappointed me.
Now if my basis would be selecting two more ladies who gave answers worth remembering by, I would go for Alaiza Malinao of Davao City and Rabiya Mateo of Iloilo City. The Davaoeña was delightfully unapologetic with her small nuances, while the Ilongga delivered herself with relative authority.
Kudos to Sigrid Grace Flores, Tracy Maureen Perez,Apriel Smith, Weam Ronquillo Ahmed, Mariel Joyce Pascua, Adelma Krissel Palomares Benicta and Kim Crizaldo for giving their best.
Now don’t ask me yet what time Part 3 will be uploaded. I will just patiently wait for the next batch to appear on the Empire.ph website.
First batch to Baguio: Here are some of the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 candidates who took the first official bus to the City of Pines. Photos were taken inside the bus and at the Strawberry Farm, La Trinidad, Benguet:
Paula Madarieta Ortega of Albay
Pauline Amelinckx of Bohol
Billie Hakenson of Cavite
Apriel Smith of Cebu Province
Adelma Krissel Palomares Benicta of Ilocos Sur
Mariel Joyce Pascua of General Santos City
Dianella Peralta Loya of Bulacan and
Kim Crizaldo of Iloilo Province
Coming from and representing General Santos City in Miss Universe Philippines 2020, Mariel Joyce Pascua is taking on a relatively more holistic approach for her intended cause in the competition.
She is filled with so much joy being part of her first national pageant after Reyna ng Aliwan 2010, and a big one at that.
Her advocacy is the #NextIsMe Movement or “Championing the Champions’ Heart” which fosters on the total being of the youth and effecting change to the society. She also conquers overwhelming obstacles, self doubts and pressure from standards and expectations through self management and multiple voices through inspiring women in action (aspiring beauty queens). The legacy is achieving a confidently beautiful self for others, as she also facilitates the Kalinaw Support group.
“I’ve been volunteering for the Youth of Sockssargen. I’m also part of Kidlikasan – a pro environment youth group creating solutions to have more youth interested in environmentalism. Supporting the Act of Love (NGO who support neighboring barangays in providing relief by extending food necessisties) and we also made hug from a distant campaign.”
How has she been during the nationwide quarantine period?
“During this quaratine period, I’m living a normal life and spending time with my family, friends and also constantly talking to my MUPH sisters. I worked as a flight attendant following a hectic schedule. This long rest gave me the time to catch up with my family. I also try online Tesda classes and workout (do some yoga, cardio and meditation) for mental & physical health.”
I am sharing the #BeyondTheCoastlines videos of the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 candidates as they are uploaded by the organization. Here is the next set:
