The Bb. Pilipinas 2017 Queens during the Bloggers Event of DQ
The Queens with my partner Joy Arguil
Yesterday afternoon after the Miss Scuba Philippines Media Launch, normannorman.com immediately went straight to the Bloggers Event for Dairy Queen Philippines held at the 2nd Floor of Taco Bell in Cyberpark Tower One. It was the activity that introduced the newest item in the brand’s menu – the #PeperoBlizzard – with its two yummy variants (Pepero Almond Chocolate and Pepero White Cookie Mango
Five of our six Bb. Pilipinas 2017 Queens – Rachel Peters, Mariel de Leon, Chanel Olive Thomas, Elizabeth Clenci and Nelda Ibe – graced the occasion and delighted everyone who attended the affair.
While it was all fun all around, the Queens also sounded us off on their next charity visit on July 20. This time, it will be for the wounded soldiers from the Marawi City Crisis. That is one emotional encounter I certainly will not miss.
In the meantime, here are more photos of the ladies as taken by Joseph Gerard V. Jose for normannorman.com.
Mariel with leading man Coco Martin
Look who’s going to be the next leading lady of actor Coco Martin in Star Cinema’s remake of “Ang Panday” for the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival – it’s Bb. Pilipinas International 2017 Mariel de Leon!
This is going to be the first big movie break of our Bb. Pilipinas queen and in a love interest role to one of the country’s top film and TV actors at that. I am pretty sure Mariel is excited about the project. I just hope that the principal photography and post-production demands won’t interfere with her training and preparations for Miss International 2017.
Congratulations, Mariel! 🙂
Four of the Bb. Pilipinas 2017 titleholders VS the Puteri Indonesia 2017 crown-wearers
As my last blog post for the month of June (barring any blog-worthy topic that might still make it for the month
), I am giving way to this interesting post that should invite most of you to pitch in your say on the matter.
I did use the two-lettered “VS” (versus) to make the title of this post more enticing. However, I am not really into creating a good catfight between two national beauty pageants of the same stature, but just a friendly comparison of the winners who will be fielded in the same competitions abroad.
Since Puteri Indonesia has only four titles – Universe, International, Supranational and Grand International – I opted to not include both Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental Katarina Rodriguez and Bb. Pilipinas Globe Nelda Ibe in the mix to strike a balance.
Now instead of me injecting personal judgments right away, I chose to let you – my dear readers – to fill in your inputs first. Now after a few days – and hopefully a substantial number of comments to tally “objective” preferences from – I will put in my running picks in the four (4) matches below:
UNIVERSE: Rachel Peters VS Bunga Jelitha
INTERNATIONAL: Mariel de Leon VS Kevin Lilliana
SUPRANATIONAL: Chanel Olive Thomas VS Karina Nadila
GRAND INTERNATIONAL: Elizabeth Clenci VS Dea Goesti Rizkita
By the way, watching the videos below might help your personal comparisons as well.

Mariel is the muse of MegaStyle.ph for the month of June
For the month of June 2017, MegaStyle.ph
has Bb. Pilipinas International Maria Angelica de Leon as their muse in this fashion pictorial that is at once full of frills and fanciful the next. And you can see a softer side to this beauty who has really lost more weight towards a shapelier figure after we saw each other twice in the past week alone.
Here is an excerpt from the article written by Louise Sicat:
Curious, inquisitive, and a definite old soul, Miss International Philippines Mariel De Leon captures our hearts with her classic beauty and her easygoing smile. Sweet as pie, Mariel takes us through her journey through Binibining Pilipinas and dials us in with her obvious passion for the arts. Reincarnated through the renaissance era, Mariel shares her life before the crown and proves how self-love and a strong advocacy is all you need to be a queen in your own right…
