Your Binibini 17 Maria Camille Manalo was a Taekwondo Gold Medalist for the Philippines
Camille during the visit to the Araneta Center Bus Port
I remember the very first time I laid eyes on a photograph of Maria Camille P. Manalo from Cavite. I was on a long road trip to Baler to judge the Binibining Aurora 2017 Pageant last month. The data service of Globe was very unstable the minute we reached Pantabangan. But curiously, all the sent images came in nicely. And that was when I told her handler that, without a doubt, the tall (5’9″
) lady has a very strong chance of making it as Official Candidate should she decide to sign up. And she passed all the screenings. She is now your Binibini 17.
The former SEA Games Gold Medalist for the Philippines in the sport of Taekwondo is now ready to kick some serious ass in Bb. Pilipinas 2017. At 26, this is a now-or-never situation for Camille. I will let her take the spotlight, as follows:
“I am a simple, cheerful & strong person. Aside from being an athlete, I’m also a soft-hearted person. Being an Official Candidate of Bb. Pilipinas 2017, I can say that I’m amazed & thrilled being part of it because I wasn’t expecting anything. After all, I’m just a newbie in the world of pageantry.
As we continue our day-to-day activities in for Binibini, I will simply enjoy my journey. For me, it is also a great achievement or another significant moment added in my life. And I’m very grateful to be part of this prestigious pageant in our country. Hopefully, I will be able to represent our country like before when I was still an athlete. The demands are far more daunting, to be honest. But with the constant love and support from those who believe in me, I might just be able to make it through. Thank you so much, Tito Norman! God bless. 😊”

Camille is ready to kick some ass as an Independent Binibini
The road to the crown can be tougher for an independent candidate like Maria Camille Manalo. She is counting on the unconditional support of everyone who encouraged her to join. Because when the going gets tough, she will definitely need people she can lean on – her handlers, designer-friends, family, friends and all. She is tough as a nail, though. If she can give her undivided focus till late April, she might just be able to win BPCI over and gain the nod for one of the titles she is qualified for.
Let’s talk about your Binibini 17 now, dear readers. 🙂
