Last night at the “Go For Great” Media Launch of STR8 Philippines for the launch of seven (7) new scents of the popular STR8 brand of men’s fragrance in the country, four of the winners of the recently-concluded Mr World Philippines 2018 national competition graced the occasion en route to becoming brand endorsers of the product.
I was able to corner Mr World Philippines 2018 JB “Jody Baines” Saliba who will be the host delegate once the country hosts the next edition of Mr World in March, 2019.
Click below to watch my (more than) 5-minute exclusive interview with this well-spoken man who spoke about his major victory as a pageant first-timer, how he looks at the pressure of doing well in front of his countrymen, how to put to full advantage his Sports Science background in fulfilling the physical responsibilities that come with his future mission and how a potential showbiz career on TV could extend popularity beyond his reign.
Kristine Malicsi (top photo, middle) leads the winners of Miss Aviation Philippines 2016
Last night at the Rigodon Ballroom of Manila Peninsula, an 18 year-old winsome lass from Navotas was crowned Miss Aviation Philippines 2016 and defeated 13 other contenders for the title. Kristine Malicsi, a student of International Travel & Tourism at the Lyceum of the Philippines University, wowed the judges with her good looks and charming appeal to lead all comers at the end of the competition. Her 1st Runner-Up is Reichelieu Emory Santos, with Trizia Abaya completing the Top 3 as 2nd Runner-Up.
Kristine, whom I have met last December through her designer-mentor Jontie Martinez, is really a sweet and good-natured young lady who can certainly add that youthful quality to the branding of the pageant. She can definitely “inspire the youth to pursue a career in aviation and empower women in the industry“.
Congratulations to Pageant Director Morena Carla Cabrera-Quimpo for the successful staging of another edition of Miss Aviation Philippines! 🙂

Cleo Margaret Brown is the first-ever Miss Aviation Philippines
The Top 3 (left-to-right): 1st Runner-Up Lizl Louise Resoles, Miss Aviation Philippines Cleo Margaret Brown and 2nd Runner-Up Mica Angela Angeles
During last night’s finals of Miss Aviation Philippines 2015 at the Rigodon Ballroom of the Manila Peninsula, a very apt winner was crowned. Cleo Margaret Brown is a student of Aviation Electronic Technology at the Asian College of Aeronautics, that’s why.
Actually, even the 1st Runner-Up is almost tailor-made for the title had she finished ahead instead of Cleo. Lizl Louise Resoles is a Flight Cabin Crew student at the Wings Institute of Global Career Inc. 2nd Runner-Up honor went to Mica Angela Angeles, a hotel/lobby ambassador.
It was a successfully-held event all in all. Kudos to Pageant Director (former Mutya ng Pilipinas) Morena Carla Cabrera-Quimpo. 🙂
The thirteen (13) lovelies for Miss Aviation Philippines 2015
Their mission is to promote, advocate and inspire the youth to have a career in aviation and support tourism in the Philippines today. And one of these thirteen (13) hopefuls will be declared Miss Aviation Philippines 2015
on February 10 at the Rigodon Ballroom of The Manila Peninsula.
But before that happens, you can help one of them become the Most Charming Face by liking their respective official photos on the contest’s Facebook page
You can vote for the Most Charming Face on the contestants by liking their official photos on the contest’s FB page. Click above to see more of them.
And because of the smaller number of participants, all pre-pageant activities are a joy to organize. They have been traveling in different parts of the country to promote the competition as well as espouse its objectives which I see as more practical in scope and realization.
Good luck to all the ladies of Miss Aviation Philippines 2015! May the best contender fly off (pun intended) with the title on Coronation Night. 🙂
