India will do things differently this year. Although Miss Diva Universe was started last year with Manasi Moghe as the first titleholder, her successor will represent India in Miss Universe 2014 but not after passing through different channels of screening and eliminations before being effectively called Miss Universe India 2014 as well.
Miss Diva Universe 2014 will not be your usual beauty pageant because the reality search mode has been factored in. Read the excerpt from this article from MENSXP:
“The winner of Yamaha Fascino Miss Diva Universe 2014 will be discovered via a prime-time TV series on Zee Cafe, with delayed telecasts and additional content on Zoom, giving the pageant an unprecedented television presence. The first episode kick-starts with Diva Grind, a sundowner pool party, crafted by Sunburn. The series will see the girls face challenges from some of India’s most famous men and get tested on male rituals like speed, fitness, adventure and sport. This will then culminate in a grand finale, an intimate, offbeat red carpet affair at Asilo.”
Let’s see if this new approach will help India regain its powerhouse status in Miss Universe. 😉
A Miss Universe delegate does not compete in the pageant just for her personal gain. A more important objective is to do so for the love of flag and country. Nothing is more rewarding and fulfilling than claiming victory with the full support of your countrymen.
The Asian delegates (including Guam) may have varying degrees of cheers and fanaticism from their respective supporters, but the common goal is always to push and motivate their representatives to be the best they can be in achieving the top prize.
I can’t remember the last time a Miss Universe pictorial had the ladies and their flags as theme. It sure is giving everyone more reasons to vote and back-up. 😉
I decided to start with the Asian region first for the Fadil Berisha glamshots. Given the dozen ladies above, who do you think stood out?
Personally, my Preferred Three in this group are:
The three Asian glamshots I like best.
Miss Philippines Ariella Arida and Miss India Manasi Moghe in Moscow's Red Square
Both Miss Philippines Ariella Arida and Miss India Manasi Moghe are looking at winning their respective country’s 3rd Miss Universe crown. And it doesn’t seem like an impossibility for either.
For one, Manasi is a far better contender than the last. And she is not letting up in her efforts to make India proud of her achievements. As for Ariella, our girl is steadily climbing the popularity charts and is now a staple inclusion in many armchair judges’ list of beauties to watch for.
Together with the other candidates, Ariella and Manasi were able to tour Moscow’s Red Square and Bolshoi Theater, their first official visit around the Russian capital’s famous sights.
Who will be rewarded with the desired victory? 😉

Let’s do head-to-heads between Ara Arida and twelve of the other Asian candidates in Miss Universe 2013. Who do you think is more superior in each pairing?
In alphabetical order now.
Ara VS Ye Jin
Ara VS Manasi
Ara VS Whulandary
Ara VS Yukimi
Ara VS Zhazira
Ara VS Kim Yu-Mi
Ara VS Carey
Ara VS Moe Set
Ara VS Shi
Ara VS Amanda
Ara VS Chalita
Ara VS Thi May
Here’s my personal pre-arrival take:
Ara Arida is definitely stronger than a dozen of the region’s best contenders for the Diamond Nexus Lab crown. However, there are three (3) ladies I consider with the possibility of giving her a really tough fight for the one or two semifinal spots that could be reserved for the region. They are: Whulandary Herman of Indonesia, Truong Thi May of Vietnam and Manasi Moghe of India.
I’d say that our rep should prepare for this trio first before executing her game plan versus the Central Europeans.
Your say, dear readers?
