Watch the final three teams in the video teaser below.
Parul and Maggie are in the Season Finale of TARA5
Just when you thought that beauty queens are physical weaklings, think again. Parul Shah and Maggie Wilson made it to the Final Leg of The Amazing Race Asia Season 5 and will gun for the US$100,000 pot money along with the second Philippine team Eric and Rona plus Malaysian beauty queens Yvonne and Chloe. And the 9th leg was a definitely killer in all aspects with a yield and a U-turn thrown in altogether.
Watch the episode that determined the racers who will run during Leg 10 this coming Thursday, December 15, 9:00PM on AXN Asia.

A photo grid summary of their performance so far
Parul & Maggie on the mat with fellow Philippine team Eric & Rona
Beauty Queens Parul Shah and Maggie Wilson continue to make us proud in The Amazing Race Asia Season 5 with their gradual ascent to the top of the pack. From a 7th place finish during the premiere episode, the duo moved up to 6th the following week before landing on 5th when the teams finally headed to Malaysia. Last Thursday, they secured their best leg finish so far by getting to the mat in Thailand at 3rd place. And FYI, the other Philippine team – married couple Eric & Rona – is still safe.
For those who missed Episode 1 (the start of the race in Jakarta) more than a few weeks back, here is the video provided by AXN and TARA itself.

For Episode 5, here is the preview teaser so you will know what the remaining racers are up against.

If you watched the World Premiere of The Amazing Race Asia Season 5 on AXN Asia cable channel last night, you would know by now that the team of Parul Shah and Maggie Wilson-Consunji are still safe as they placed 7th (among 10 remaining teams) during the first leg in Jakarta.
And you would also agree with me that this is quite a daunting task for the two ladies considering the tasks they had to complete in search for the top prize of US$100,000.00.
And what is the main motivation for them to do well in the race? It’s all for the love of Parul’s father who is ill. Maggie confessed that winning the pot money will help defray the cost of medical and hospitalization bills. It only goes to show how deep the bond is between the two.
So let’s keep on watching the reality series every Thursday night at 9:00PM on AXN Asia to see how far they will stretch their limits. I wanted to post a link to the full episode but it’s still to early to do that for copyright reasons. In a few more days, maybe? 😉
Beauty Queens Parul Shah and Maggie Wilson are two of the Philippine teams in the latest season of The Amazing Race Asia
This coming October, the latest season of The Amazing Race Asia on the AXN Channel will premiere with eleven (11) teams from different Asian countries competing for the US$100,000 grand prize. For the interest of pageant followers, one of the two Philippine pairs is the tandem is made up of former Bb. Pilipinas titleholders Parul Shah (who competed for and placed 3rd Runner-Up during Miss Grand International 2015 in Bangkok) and Maggie Wilson-Consunji (our entry during Miss World 2007 held in Sanya, China).

Along with the 2nd Philippine team – married couple Eric Tai (formerly of It’s Showtime) and Rona Samson – they will try to bring back-to-back honors to the country by bagging top place in the reality series that saw the last season’s pair of best buddies Richard Hardin and Richard Herrera taking it all the way to #1.

A dozen of our national beauty titleholders (plus runners-up and a Canadian-Pinay BQ) who posed on the cover of FHM Philippines
Filipina by heart, Priscilla Meirelles-Estrada was on the cover of FHM back in 2010
Posing for a magazine like FHM is a curse to beautiful Filipinas aspiring to become beauty queens, but not after becoming or placing in one years after the reign. And this is exactly what these ladies bravely decided to go into when the risks were no longer high.
Bb. Pilipinas titleholders Maggie Wilson, Carlene Aguilar, Bianca Manalo, Nina Ricci Alagao, Joanne Santos, Danielle Castano and Alice Dixson. Miss Philippines Earth 2002 April Ross Perez. Bb. Pilipinas runners-up Rich Asuncion (aka Richelle Angalot) and Wendy Valdez. Miss World Philippines 2nd Princess Chloe Dauden (aka Chloe McCully). Fil-Canadian rep of Canada to Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss Earth Riza Santos. And one-time Bb. Pilipinas Official Candidate Francine Prieto (aka Anna Marie Falcon). And let’s also add Miss Earth 2004 Priscilla Meirelles who, while Brazilian, remains Filipino by heart on top of being married to local actor John Estrada.

Truth be told, I don’t have anything against beauty queen-wannabes who decided to pose for magazines like FHM prior to signing up for national pageants. For as long as their pictorials were done tastefully, go ahead. But then again, that’s just my own take. And I’m not the one running the pageant, after all.
