These thirty nine (39) Binibinis are ready to wow everyone!
Later in the day at the Novotel Manila Araneta Center, the Bb. Pilipinas 2017 Press Presentation will unfold at the Monet Ballroom. This important pre-pageant event is highly anticipated after it has been moved from the originally-penciled date of March 15.
We shall finally know the final cast of Binibinis who will vie for the six (6) crowns at stake: Miss Universe Philippines, Bb. Pilipinas International, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental, Bb. Pilipinas Supranational, Bb. Pilipinas Grand International and Miss Globe Philippines.
Thirty-nine (39) Binibinis are all pumped up to wow everyone, after spending the whole of last Monday for rehearsals. We already know that Mae Lanie Chan is off the list by now.
These Binibinis will give their absolute best to shine in front of the media. After all, this activity is the formal basis of Press Favorites and the like.
It will be a strictly invitational affair so stay tuned for updates here as Joy Arguil, Joseph Gerard Jose and I will be there to cover the proceedings. 🙂

Is Mae Lanie Chan the first casualty of Bb. Pilipinas 2017?
I have to hand it to the most eagle-eyed among you, dear readers. Last week – when you noticed that the photo of #Binibini36 Mae Lanie Chan is no longer part of the Official Candidates album
on FB – the questions started pouring in here and on my inbox.

Is #Binibini36 the first casualty of this year’s batch? Possibly. But before you jump to conclusions as to why, let us wait for a confirmation from BPCI (which might not yet be forthcoming
). On one hand, it is possible that Mae Lanie backed out for still unstated reasons instead of getting disqualified by the organizers – just like the difference between resigning or getting fired.
But let me just give you a hint as I have been intimated part of the story.
I cannot really disclose details because it might jeopardize ongoing negotiations with the legal arm of BPCI. For now, we all wait with bated breath – but not a big exhale-inducing one. I hope.
Wednesday’s Press Presentation will finally reveal if it’s a -1/+1 or Down to 39 till the finals.
Here we go with your Binibini 36 for Bb. Pilipinas 2017 – Mae Lanie Chan
Mae Lanie Chan is one of the three Cabin Crew (the Pajares sisters make up the other two
) of Philippine Airlines trained by Aces & Queens for Bb. Pilipinas 2017. And this beautiful Binibini 36 will represent her home province of Isabela in the nationals. Know more about her below:
“I am 25 years old from Isabela, and has been working as a Flight Attendant for Philippine Airlines after graduating BS in Commerce major in Tourism Management from the Far Eastern University. I try to live a very active lifestyle trying all sorts of physical activities like surfing, hiking, wakeboarding, yoga, bouldering and scuba diving. I went into all sorts of activities but I really fell in love with scuba diving. That’s why I got my advanced open water diver license from PADI when I was in college.
I don’t want to consider myself as a yoga expert but I’m definitely very enthusiastic about it. Not just the practice of yoga but it being a way of life. That’s why I’ve always wanted to promote alternative healing methods and the use of natural products to resolve issues concerning health. Being chosen as one of the Official Candidates of Binibini is such a great honor for me. It gives such a heart-warming feeling knowing that the hard work I put on months of preparation was appreciated. The encouragement I am currently receiving from family, friends and supporters gives me the boost and inspiration I need in this new and arduous journey I am taking. I am very excited to showcase myself and what I have learned so far from my mentors at Aces & Queens – onstage and beyond that.”

Mae Lanie Chan has the beauty, charm and grace to convince anyone that she deserves to be a Binibini. If she levels herself up even more, I won’t be surprised if she is capable of giving the front-runners a run for the money.
Your take on Mae Lanie, dear readers? 🙂
