Fresh from her crowning as Miss Ilocos Norte 2021 last May 29, Lyka Katrina Samalio is in the throes of what could possibly be the most life-changing period of her young life. At the age of 18, she has shown the smarts of a Gen Z way ahead of Millennial counterparts. With further training and polish, she could be on the road to becoming a #PhenomenalWoman soon.
It has been quite some time since an Ilocos Norte native presented herself on the national stage of pageantry. If I’m not mistaken, Sheena Dalo (from Bb. Pilipinas 2016) was the last recognizable one to do it for her province. This 2021, a young 5’7” Pagudpud charmer can do Hilagang Ilokos proud. And I trust her team and organizers to help pave the way for a noteworthy participation in Miss Universe Philippines.
