Miss Universe on Preview Magazine
Queen P on AsTM Cycle 5
It was rumored before that Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach will be the new host of Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5. But no, Cindy Bishop will still be there to do the job. Instead, she will be a guest judge (left photo
) during the premiere episode of the latest season which will start airing on Star World by early 2017. This is also the reason why she spent time in the Lion City the past several days.
Anyways, Preview Magazine will have Queen P headlining its Best-Dressed Issue which will come out just in time for the Holidays. Here is the pitch:
Yas, Queen! Pia Wurtzbach reigns as she headlines our annual Best Dressed Issue. We’re celebrating style individuality with the women on this year’s list: Jess Connelly, Renee de Guzman, Mich Dulce, Heart Evangelista, Michelle Yao, Sam Lee, Arci Muñoz, Mika Padua and Pat Ramos. #PiaForPreview

Watch out for this issue of Preview very soon!
Miss Universe 2012 First Runner-Up Janine Tugonon on the March 2013 cover of Metro Magazine.
Janine in all her lovely splendor.
If you still haven’t bought the latest issue (including the digital version) of Metro Magazine, then do yourself a favor and get one now. It has our Miss Universe 2012 First Runner-Up Janine Tugonon on the cover in a ’60s Redux theme, complete with a nice article and multi-page pictorial spread inside.
Janine has come a long way, and in Louis Vuitton garb at that.
The first thing you might end up saying after seeing these images is…”What a long way our Janine has come!” From her days as a Pharmacy student and Miss Thomasian Personality to her unsuccessful first attempt to win a crown in Bb. Pilipinas 2011 and an eventual re-joining last year to finally nail the top prize, all the way to Las Vegas where she kept all Filipinos on the edge of their seats after almost giving the country its third Miss Universe victory.
Janine is certainly fated for better things to come. After she gets to relinquish her crown to a ‘highly-pressured’ successor come April, it’s time to reap and fully enjoy the rewards of an outstanding reign. I’m pretty sure she will have a string of more endorsements, plus a possible showbiz stint with ABS-CBN.
Marriage can wait. Right, Janine? 😉
Christmas is literally just around the bend and if you have not had the chance to buy or request for a cool gift this holiday season (and if your gift-giver has the moolah to spare for the same), then do consider the latest gadget I am presenting below. This item may be pricey but – just like good designer bags like Goyard or Gucci – is not only eye-candy but very useful (fairly life-changing in a way), only much cheaper than a Louis Vuitton or Prada.
The Samsung Galaxy Note
The Samsung Galaxy Note
can be one addicting and uber
gorgeous smartphone. It has the world’s first and largest 5.3″ HD Super AMOLED display screen – an expansive high-resolution screen that provides an impressive viewing experience. Some review websites state that this is
“…the handset those dreams are made of — if you happen to share that dream about obnoxiously large smartphones.”

But the Note (together with the S-pen) can also provoke a love-or-hate relationship with its owners because of the actual size that is a lot bigger than your usual handset but significantly smaller than the humongous tablets that can’t be used close to the ear when receiving calls. It is clearly a compact tablet that you can slip in your pocket (even if its contours will surely be discernible even from a distance) and function as handset and tablet rolled into one.
Aside from its tag price (around PhP 35,000), the only other reason to hesitate in getting the Samsung Galaxy Note is if the thing won’t safely fit in the palm of your right or left hand. Of course, you don’t want it falling off your grasp and damaging a perfectly premium gadget. But if you’re like me who has gotten used to the 7″ tablets of HTC and the similarly Samsung-branded ones like the Tab, this is a cool alternative that will spell a good dose of convenience more often than not.
I’m not sure if I will eventually own one (my budget won’t allow a hefty purchase at this point of the year anymore), but I definitely won’t mind getting one as a gift (Mama, can you hear me? LOL!) because I can fully maximize its use and be able to extend my mostly positive experiences with Samsung. 😉
