Janicel|Yvethe|Laura|Hannah: 4 Ways to Look like a Mermaid

When Bb. Pilipinas International 2015 Janicel Lubina, Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2014 Yvethe Santiago, Bb. Pilipinas 2014 1st Runner-Up Laura Lehmann and Bb. Pilipinas 2015 1st Runner-Up Hannah Ruth Sison were brought by David’s Salon for their first overseas hair fashion shoot in the Affinage Australia HQs in Brisbane, little did they know about the actual difficulty levels of the project they signed up for.

In particular, Laura (according to David’s Salon Marketing Manager Lotte Villarosa-Agraviador) underwent the most complex (and cry-worthy) hair transformation as it took practically the whole day to achieve what the brand has assigned for her final look. I was also told that any hair care professional-wannabe cannot single-handedly do what a team of professionals toiled over. Hannah had the easiest procedure because the two-colored braids were not as complicated to accomplish. Yvethe had a relatively trying time as well but not to the point of almost wearing her out. Lastly, Janicel looked like she had the hardest-to-achieve hair, but it actually was not as demanding as the rest.

So now, may I present to you the Mermaid Hair Collection of David’s Salon in cooperation with Affinage Australia.

A hearty lunch with the beautiful Queens earlier today

With David Charlton of David’s Salon

Just hours earlier, your blogger was invited to an exclusive coverage of the lunch and sponsor visit for David’s Salon held at the Union Jack Tavern in Legaspi Village, Makati. Actually, it was a victory lunch of sorts which the hair salon brand has been giving to the winning Binibinis every year. Present were Miss Universe Philippines Rachel Peters, Bb. Pilipinas International Mariel de Leon, Bb. Pilipinas Supranational Chanel Olive Thomas, Bb. Pilipinas Grand International Elizabeth Clenci, Bb. Pilipinas Globe Nelda Ibe and 2nd Runner-Up Kristel Guelos. Due to a previous commitment, 1st Runner-Up Charmaine Elima could not make it. Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental Katarina Rodriguez, on the other hand, is currently on vacation in the Netherlands.

It was a very light and joy-filled meal as the ladies were also reunited with their respective Hair and Make-Up Artists during the competition. And the big man (no pun intended) himself – David Charlton – was such a perfect host as he attended to all the ladies, especially Elizabeth who needed to have a specific meal prepared for her being a strict vegan. Everyone else feasted on delish British and Brit-Indian fares such as fish & chips, chicken masala, beef quesodillas, Sriracha chicken wings and more.

Photo ops followed with everyone as loot bags (courtesy of David’s Salon and Union Jack Tavern) were also given away as take-home gifts.

It is worth sharing to you, dear readers, that (prior to the start of all the busy pre-pageant and finals activities for Bb. Pilipinas 2016) David’s Salon – through the efforts of its Marketing Manager Lotte Villarosa-Agraviador – reached out to the several beauty camps in order to fully coordinate on the pegs that have already been assigned to each of the candidates so as not to make drastic changes in the way that their already-tested hair and make-up looks are already in place. Instead, they entered the beauty fray with the objctive of complimenting the same and making the ladies look more beautiful.

This is indeed a very smart move on the part of David’s Salon so as to do away with any conflicts in cosmetic application and hair styling that may have happened in previous years. And I am witness to the discussion among them as to how things can be improved and relationships with the beauty camps smoothened for a more stress-free handling of the HMU needs of the Binibinis.
