I must admit that Miss Earth-Japan Marina Kishira’s National Costume doesn’t look like one at all. In fact, it could pass for the Evening Gown Parade if you ask me, albeit tacky it may seem in design. But then again, the judges must have scored her high in presentation skills because she carried the outfit with such clockwork precision, coupled with sharp turns and poses (as you can see in the video above). That could be the only reason why she upended the other ladies in the Top 4, namely, Luisa de Almeida Lopes of Brazil, Jennifer Pazmino of Ecuador, Nondyedo Dzingwa of South Africa and Claudia Lopez Mollinedo of Mexico.
The announcement of the winner was made by Miss Earth 2009, Larissa Ramos.
Outside the Top 5 above, here are my personal favorites in their National Costumes:
Kudos to Miss Earth-Japan! 😉
