Truth be told, it is not very often that Miss Universe gets involved in some hands-on charity work, especially if the pageant is being held in the USA. So it is refreshing to see the 2011 ladies visiting Casa do Zezinho in the outskirts of Sao Paulo.

The Miss Universe 2011 candidates being serenaded by the musically-trained youth of Casa do Zezinho.
Casa do Zezinho – a safe haven for poor children and teenagers in Sao Paulo’s slum areas of Capão Redondo, Parque Santo Antônio and Jardim Ângela – functions as a day-care and after-school center to keep the young things off the streets where they are more likely to get into the bad elements of society. This is where they get nurturing in most aspects of life without separating them fron their parents. Further education is given, be it in music, culture and sports.
The Miss Universe 2011 candidates were showered with warmth and adulation by everyone at the center. And it is clear that they had a real good time bonding, playing, singing and dancing with the kids who must be overjoyed seeing all these beautiful angels visiting them.
