After Karla Henry, Jamie Herrell and Angelia Ong, Karen Ibasco is added to the list of Filipina Miss Earth winners after being crowned as this year’s winner during the finals held at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The crowd inside the venue cheered in rapturous applause after host James Deakin (of CNN Philippines) named “Philippines!” as the winner.
Making up the elemental court of Karen are Nina Robertson of Australia (Air), Juliana Franco of Colombia (Water) and Lada Akimova of Russia (Fire).
The remaining four ladies who reached Top 8 are Ninoska Vasquez of Venezuela, Paweensuda Drouin of Thailand, Iva Suchytilova of Czech Republic and Faith Landman of Netherlands.
Some people are not happy with the Philippines winning another Miss Earth title so soon. But if you faithfully watch the entire proceedings, Karen really nailed each segment and gave the most convincing answer during the Final 4 Q&A. I would have been happy with Australia or Colombia getting the top plum too. But I was told that the judges were unanimous in their choice of the host country as winner.
The bashings of Karen and Miss Earth have already started. And this is going to be online bloody.
