This is a big shout-out to the fans, followers, admirers and supporters of Mister International Philippines 2014 Neil Perez. Just before he departs next week for the big competition in Seoul, Korea, do watch his life story first – and his TV acting debut for that matter.
Tonight, “Magpakailanman” on GMA-7 will air “PNP Pogi na Pulis: The PO2 Mariano Flormata Jr. Story” which will have Neil playing his adult self together with acting veterans Roi Vinzon and Irma Adlawan (playing his parents) and Kristoffer Martin (as the teenage Neil).
Tune in at around 8:00PM (give or take five minutes or so) to catch it. 😉
The confirmed delegates of Mister International 2014 to date
Neil will portray himself in an upcoming episode of “Magpakailanman” on GMA-7.
Very soon, Misters of the Philippines-International 2014 Neil Perez will be leaving for Seoul, Korea to represent the Philippines in Mister International 2014
. With the male contest taking more than two weeks of pre-pageant activities before the scheduled finals night on October 18, our Police Officer will have his hands full outshining the other foreign delegates and aiming to bring home the crown to his countrymen.
In the meantime, Neil will play himself in an upcoming episode of “Magpakailanman“ on GMA-7 where his life story will be featured. He used his amateur acting skills in scenes with veteran actress Irma Adlawan, teen actors Kristoffer Martin and Vincent Magbanua (who played the young Neil Perez).
By next week, our rep will be busy as a bee preparing his wardrobe and travel essentials, as well as doing some last-minute Q&A polishing with his trainer Macoy Manlapaz.
Looking forward to seeing Neil in Mister International 2014! 😉
Mona Louise Rey portrays the titular role in GMA-7's 'Munting Heredera'
I can really be a sucker for tearjerkers so I just had to blog about this new child performer on GMA-7 who breaks my heart every weekday night that I watch her on ‘Munting Heredera” (Little Heiress). Mona Louise Rey plays the role of Jennifer, a little girl who got separated from her real mother and father after birth, got adopted by a gay teacher whose Aunt beats the hell out of the poor waif and is now taken away by her supposed ‘real’ mother who turns out to be the head of a syndicate exploiting children into begging on the streets. Yes, it’s the stuff that can get emotionally cheesy but I just had to follow the teleserye and see how Jennifer’s life will turn for the better.
Here are video clips from the May 28 and 31 episodes:

If you have followed the series since it premiered last month, I think we’ll be in agreement that Mona Louise Rey is a natural performer who makes each of her scenes both endearing and believable. I know that ABS-CBN’s Xyriel Manabat packs an acting wallop in her latest “100 Days to Heaven”, but Mona is, quite simply, a joy to watch. Most especially now when the story has reached the point when the kid is being used by the syndicate to peddle drugs outside an exclusive school. It’s truly heart-tugging. (Pardon if am over-reacting but I don’t like seeing child exploitation like that.)
Try catching “Munting Heredera” if you can. It airs Mondays to Fridays on GMA-7’s Telebabad primetime block after Amaya, and stars Ms. Gloria Romero, Mark Anthony Fernandez, Camille Prats, Katrina Halili, Roderick Paulate, Krystal Reyes, Joyce Ching, Kristoffer Martin, Neil Ryan Sese and introducing Mona Louise Rey as Jennifer. The series is directed by the ever-reliable and multi-awarded Film & TV Director Maryo J. Delos Reyes. 😉
