Tonight, two beauty pageant finals will unfold simultaneously.
First is the Miss Global Philippines 2017 at Resorts World Manila where Camille Cj Hirro will crown her successor among the 22 beautiful contenders below. See who will take home the victory at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.
Best of luck to all the ladies, but most especially to my favorites Jacqueline Mayoralgo, Mary Ann Mungcal, Charmaine Aller, Frencheska Frias Nueva and Christine Balaguer.
normannorman.com will be at the venue to cover with Joy Arguil and Joseph Gerard V. Jose.
And over at the PICC Plenary Hall at CCP Complex in Pasay City, the thirty (30) candidates of Miss Manila 2017 will try to outshine each other as they go onstage for the crowning of a new face for the city to succeed Cristelle Tolentino.
I have more than a few ladies here who I want to land on top, such as former Binibini 4 Maria Gail Tobes, Kristine Montes, Joanna Tolledo, Katrina Sese and Athena Catriz.
Who will be the lucky girl to win PhP1 Million Pesos in the end?
Kristine Joyce Montes is as exotic as it gets for Bb. Pilipinas 2017
The first time I saw Kristine Joyce Montes face-to-face was during the Aces & Queens Presentation of the Class of 2017. My first impression was the look of Yvethe Marie Santiago before she took part in Bb. Pilipinas 2014. In fact, the two of them could pass off as sisters – same height, same dusky skin and same aura. But while the latter projected a more sweet aura, this tall (she is over 5’9″
) lady from Borongan, Eastern Samar had that very exotic quality that can possibly draw mixed reactions from the more picky of pageant followers. The good thing is that her beauty grows on you the longer the moment of appreciation is. Her smile can be very magnetic. And the minute she was transformed from a catwalk image to the peg of pageantry, her potentials start rushing through.
Here is more about Kristine, in her own words:
“My friends call me Tin. I’m 24 years old from Borongan City, Eastern Samar. I am the youngest in our family but I act and take responsibilities like I’m the eldest. I fell in love with music growing up and have been a part of a Rondalla – – playing the banduria – when I was in grade school. I’ve also part of a high school orchestra when I was still in 6th grade and continued to play till I graduated high school where I played the Viola. I have been teased back then because of my height, my classmates would call me ‘langkawag‘ or ‘kapre‘. When I moved to Manila, I realized I could use the height to my advantage and started modeling after college. I have been lucky enough to walk for some of the great Filipino fashion designers like Albert Andrada, Francis Libiran, Ezra Santos, Lesley Mobo, Amir Sali to name a few. I’ve worked as a full time model for two years after graduating from college. As I seek for a better career in the hospitality industry, I then worked for a Forbes 5-star Hotel and Casino here in Manila as part of the Call Center and Reservations and did modeling as part time. As I seek for more experience as a hotelier, I transferred to another hotel in Ortigas as a Sales Coordinator.
I have always been independent growing up. I knew I wanted to travel, see the beauty of the Philippines and learn other cultures and languages outside our country. I have learned to appreciate life and the people dear to me as I traveled to other countries alone and got into a lot of adventures I never thought I’ll ever experience. Traveling has helped me discover more about myself and has taught me to love life, stay positive and be resourceful in any situation I get into. I became a risk-taker ready for any trials and challenges thrown at me. Life is a beautiful thing to experience, and I dedicate my time and heart to anything that life will offer me, be it good or bad.
Good luck in Bb. Pilipinas 2017, Tin! (Photo credit: Rolee Umali)
