The video production above made by Gelbert Aplal for Rodgil Flores Production is the commemorative special for the 50th Mutya ng Pilipinas which also cooncided with the launch of the coffee table book “Mutya” that happened during the Homecoming of previous titleholders last Wednesday night at the Ascott BGC.
Below are some photos from the said event where past Queens united/reunited for an evening of glam, reminiscing and sisterhood bonding. The current batch of candidates also took part in the momentous occasion.
A toast to 50 Glorious Years of Mutya ng Pilipinas!
Big shoutout to the loving and gentle Tito Rodgil Flores of beauty camp Kagandahang Flores!
Happiest Birthday to you!
May your day be showered with love and kisses, not only from the people you care for most, but also from the ones you have selflessly helped through the years!
It’s not often that I get formally recognized for the work that I do in pageantry and media coverage. So last night’s awarding of the Philippine Empowered Men and Women of 2017 is something that I looked forward to ever since the organizers informed of my inclusion in the roster of honorees.
You see, the daily blogs that I come up every single day is just a significant one-third of the work that I have decided to do on a full-time basis. Aside from covering pageants and other events outside of the industry, I also went full blast with training/coaching/mentoring of young women and men who wish to enter beauty competitions. It may not be the kind of profession that will make me the richest in terms of monetary rewards. But the fulfillment/happiness I get is immense. This despite the intrigues, controversies and small talks that come with it. I have learned to dodge the slings and bullets from individuals who are just waiting for my next wrong move even with the slightest of mistakes. And I have also mastered (sort of) the art of choosing my battles and ignoring the hits that are either envy-induced or non-bearing. I am no Chanel Olive Thomas who will pick up a Miss Friendship vote left and right. But one thing is for sure. I always have good intentions in all projects and commitments entrusted by individuals who believe in my ability to make noise and spread awareness, as well as impart my hard-earned knowledge on how to improve the varying personalities of those who want to aspire for their slice of fame and fortune in pageantry.
Once more, I want to thank Richard Hinola of RDH Entertainment Network and the different media outlets who find me deserving of the recognition. This will push me to step up the game more than ever.
The 13th Annual Search for Miss F Universe will happen this Saturday, August 8
Come Saturday, August 8, the 13th Annual Search for Miss F Universe will take place at Fahrenheit in Quezon City where 24 lovely candidates will vie for the title in a pageant that will be judged by some of our popular beauty queens led by Miss Universe Philippines 2014 MJ Lastimosa (with more coming from KF). The winner will also join the list of twelve (12) predecessors (bottom photo) who have successfully claimed the crown in the same number of previous editions.
But what is Miss F Universe all about? Here is a brief on the competition.
Miss F Universe is a gay parody of the Miss Universe beauty pageant. The ‘F’ stands for Fahrenheit, derived from the club’s name. It is the country’s only longest running “Category B” gay beauty pageant since 2003. It was first suggested as an experiment by Ryan Soto. However, due to its success, it became an annual event. The pageant’s original slogan is Body, Beauty, Brain & Humor.
Gay beauty pageants in the Philippines are labeled in two categories based from the gay orientation of the contestants.
Category A pageant is mostly for Transgenders and contestants who have undergone surgeries or have taken enhancements for female transformation, while Category B pageant is mostly for Gay-Males, Bisexuals and for Straight-Acting Gay delegates. Sometimes, some pageants can be both.
The pageant is owned by Fahrenheit Cafe Fitness Center, which is now F Philippines by Wilbert Tolentino, the country’s first Mr. Gay World representative in 2009 and a former I Am Pogay weekly finalist.

Do watch it live if you have time this coming Saturday. It will be fun. See you there! 🙂
Hi! Norman here. When I'm not working, I spend most of my free time planning on daily blogs. If you will notice, I always make sure that a fresh topic comes out everyday - not an easy thing to do but it's all good. Thanks for dropping by and enjoy the visit!
