A Miss Universe delegate does not compete in the pageant just for her personal gain. A more important objective is to do so for the love of flag and country. Nothing is more rewarding and fulfilling than claiming victory with the full support of your countrymen.
The Asian delegates (including Guam) may have varying degrees of cheers and fanaticism from their respective supporters, but the common goal is always to push and motivate their representatives to be the best they can be in achieving the top prize.
I can’t remember the last time a Miss Universe pictorial had the ladies and their flags as theme. It sure is giving everyone more reasons to vote and back-up. 😉
I decided to start with the Asian region first for the Fadil Berisha glamshots. Given the dozen ladies above, who do you think stood out?
Personally, my Preferred Three in this group are:
The three Asian glamshots I like best.
MU2012 Olivia Culpo for Yamamay
Ariella is one 23 ladies selected by Yamamay.
And so, Miss Philippines Ariella Arida was selected once more to display her catwalk skills. This time around, it’s for Yamamay where swimsuits and lingeries are the norm of clothing.
Together with 22 others, she will walk the ramp October 26 during the Italian brand’s fashion show. The list includes host delegate Elmira Abdrazakova and fellow Asians Whulandary Herman of Indonesia, Kim Yu-mi of Korea, Carey Ng of Malaysia and Moe Set Wine of Myanmar.
Our bet is starting to heat up nicely.
Go for it, Ariella! 🙂
USA, Australia and Korea display their figures.
When the initial batch of Miss Universe 2013 candidates had their swimsuit photoshoot inside Crowne Plaza Moscow, three ladies caught my eye. Erin Brady of USA, Olivia Wells of Australia and Kim Yu-Mi represent three different body types, although the difference is still minimal if you put them side-by-side. However, the Korean lass has the most smoking hot body among the ones I have seen so far. Miss USA has one that is different from what I saw during her national pageant. And Australia remains as is.
Let me ask you, dear readers. What kind of body shape would get a high score if you were a judge? Do you like them tiny waists? Or rock-hard abs? Or bosomy uppers? Or long legs that stretch forever? Or are you an altogether old school advocate who prefers it 36-24-36? 😉
Let’s do head-to-heads between Ara Arida and twelve of the other Asian candidates in Miss Universe 2013. Who do you think is more superior in each pairing?
In alphabetical order now.
Ara VS Ye Jin
Ara VS Manasi
Ara VS Whulandary
Ara VS Yukimi
Ara VS Zhazira
Ara VS Kim Yu-Mi
Ara VS Carey
Ara VS Moe Set
Ara VS Shi
Ara VS Amanda
Ara VS Chalita
Ara VS Thi May
Here’s my personal pre-arrival take:
Ara Arida is definitely stronger than a dozen of the region’s best contenders for the Diamond Nexus Lab crown. However, there are three (3) ladies I consider with the possibility of giving her a really tough fight for the one or two semifinal spots that could be reserved for the region. They are: Whulandary Herman of Indonesia, Truong Thi May of Vietnam and Manasi Moghe of India.
I’d say that our rep should prepare for this trio first before executing her game plan versus the Central Europeans.
Your say, dear readers?
Kim yu-mi, 23, South Korea!
Find me another Miss Universe 2013 candidate – other than Miss Universe Korea – with more letter ‘K’ associated. I’m sure you won’t. 23 year-old Kim yu-mi is a film major at Konkuk University. Her national finals was held at the Kyung Hee University Grand Peace Palace organized by HanKook Daily News now known as Miss Korea Organization.
Far from projecting a kittenish, klutzy or kooky disposition, this kissable Korean lass is blessed with flawless skin and a keenly contemporary vibe compared to previous titleholders from the Land of the Morning Calm.
Tall at 5’9″ and already nearing killer body proportions by now, Kim yu-mi could be an underdog in this year’s line-up. I trust her to be knowing of her pluses to display a kick-ass representation of her country in Moscow.
I have a feeling she will be one of the more highly-noticed Asians this year. No kidding. 😉
