Sharing with you last night’s episode of Ashtie Nights with the Korona Group. The two guests were Miss Universe Philippines 2020 candidates Dianella Loya of Bulacan and Kia Moreno of Camarines Sur.
“Some days she is an autumn wind
Other days she is a wildfire
She is the hailstorm all women dream of
She is the hurricane all men are afraid of
She is the wind that sails my soul” – Kshanasurya
Miss Universe Philippines 2020 candidate Kia Moreno of Camarines Sur shows her strength in different ways. Be it with thigh-high boots and a big black bow on her hair, the projection will remain the same.

The Phenomenal Women of Miss Universe Philippines 2020 are outshining each other with the release of their different swimwear and evening gown shots. It’s looking like a battle of the glam teams and APs as well.
Here are four of them now.
As a pageant blogger, I’m supposed to come up with my new hot picks for Miss Universe Philippines 2020 by now. But I am still sticking to a good number of these #PhenomenalWomen because each one of them deserve to be seen and heard. The efforts they give in sustaining visibility in social media and other digital platforms – along with the APs and glam teams – are commendable.
So let me present my running Top 25 favorites – or the upper half of the 50 Official Candidates.
Please support each one of them in the competition’s #RingLightSeries.
Christelle Abello, Paula Ortega, Christine Nicole Silvernale, Bea Maynigo, Skelly Ivy Florida, Pauline Amelinckx, Dianella Loya, Kia Moreno, Sigrid Grace Flores, Billie Hakenson, Tracy Maureen Perez, Apriel Smith, Alaiza Malinao, Rabiya Mateo, Kim Crizaldo, Chiara Lynn Markwalder, Lou Dominique Piczon, Adee Hitomi Akiyama, Patricia Mae Santos, Bella Ysmael, Zandra Sta. Kudos to the APs and glam teams of the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 candidates for coming up with exciting new photoshoots of the #phenomenalwomen! Loving the surprises they give me everytime I check on my news feed.
Below are samples of shots from their latest pictorials.
Here is Batch 2 of the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Candidates and their Passions that never fade for Downy Philippines.
They encapsulate in ten seconds what I have been individually blogging about them for the past two months.
When one creates an advocacy for the national pageant, it’s either an opportunity to be of important help presents itself or the person has already committed herself in service for others even prior to having a concrete reason for doing so.
Miss Universe Philippines 2020 candidate Krizzia Lynn “Kia” Moreno of Camarines Sur is one such lady. While she may be a Flight Attendant of CebuPac where service is already a key ingredient, she has already made herself useful for charity causes and activities in her home province. And then COVID19 came along.
Kia initially threw her support to the healthcare frontliners of Bicol Medical Center by raising funds to provide them with PPEs. But soon after, she brought out her trusty trolley to join forces with Rise for Rice PH and distribute packs of rice not only to those families in immediate need but also to individuals who would truly appreciate the food staple.
No good deed is too small amidst the pandemic crisis. And Kia knows fully well that sharing in her own little charitable acts will go a long way in easing the difficulty of living under ECQ and providing glints of hope to people around of her. If it takes a trolley to spread love, then let’s bring them out and take the step towards having a more meaningful showcase of love and support.
This is a mix of familiar names with relatively new faces in pageantry. Earlier today, they filed their applications at the Empire Studios. Hopefully, all ten will be annointed Official Candidates next month.
First off is Bb. Pilipinas Globe 2018 Michele of Quezon City – easily the most popular in the group aside from being a TV personality of ABS-CBN.
Next is Mutya ng Pilipinas Global Beauty Queen 2018 Pauline Amelinckx of Bohol who is in her second attempt in national pageantry.
Third on the list is Maria Isabela Galeria of Sorsogon who was a Binibini during last year’s edition of Bb. Pilipinas.
The first-ever Binibining Cebu Apriel Smith is also in the roster. She was a Bb. Pilipinas candidate back in 2016 and is making her big return to the big league.
We also have Paula Ortega of Ligao, Albay – the younger sister of Gabriela Madarieta Ortega who was a former Binibini and Miss World Philippines candidate.
And then there is Riana Pangindian of Pasig City who was part of Bb. Pilipinas 2016. She is now a highly polished version and is ready to go full blast in MUP2020.
Lou Dominique Piczon of Cebu comes next. The Binibining Cebu Heritage 2018 is going for her very first plunge into a national competition. And boy, is she raring to go!
Eighth is Mari Danica Reynes who joined Miss World Philippines 2018 and is a very talented singer. While there is no talent segment in MUP, she will make up for it in other areas.
Chiara Lyn Markwalder of Leyte was part of Miss Global Philippines previously. With Aces & Queens, she has bloomed better than ever before.
Completing the group is Kia Moreno of Camarines Sur, the CebuPac FA who was seen last in Miss Philippines Earth 2019. She has now moved to Aces & Queens for MUP.
Know more about them soon!

This girl, Krizzia Lynn Moreno, represented Camarines Sur during Miss Republic of the Philippines just over a month ago. She made the semifinals of that search. Tall and brainy, she graduated Magna cum Laudefrom the University of Santo Tomas with a degree in Travel Management. She stands 5’9″ and is actually an articulate speaker, especially that her course thrives in social relations and public delivery of travel and tourism-related advisories.
Kia is not affiliated with any particular beauty camp for now. Her independent handlers are still weighing their options. But I think it won’t be long till she finds a nesting place for her training and physical improvement sessions.
Remember her name – Krizzia Lynn Moreno. She is practically a guaranteed enlister for Bb. Pilipinas 2016. And I won’t be surprised if she gets a totally different styling for the nationals. 🙂
