Names like Precious Lara Quigaman, Bea Rose Santiago and Karen Ibasco went through its tried-and-tested methods in achieving victory, with fresh new winners like Roxie Baeyens and Naelah Alshorbaji adding more luster to the camp’s reputation.

KF Founder Rodgil Flores and co-founder Gio Lazaro are at the forefront of this brand new reimagining for the camp, tagged as The Engineer and Queenmaker respectively. Not many people know that the former is an actual Chemical Engineer by profession, while the latter is one of the most respected makeup gurus in the country. Together, they will lead a team of talented professionals whose individual specializations contribute to the all-around development of future pageant aspirants and beauty queens.

Just to refresh your memory on the Queens who have been trained and polished by KF, here are some of them (aside from those mentioned above): Rachel Peters, MJ Lastimosa, Karla Henry, Jamie Herrell, Angelia Ong, Gazini Ganados and Emma Tiglao. Very recently, Miss Aura International Alexandra Faith Garcia and The Miss Globe 2021 Maureen Montagne were added to the tally of successful beauty champions.

After a 5-year hiatus, not to mention the challenges brought about by the uncertainties of the pandemic, the Cebu City Tourism Commission Office is optimistic that today is a moment of hope. It is time to move on with much faith and resilience. The continuing roll-out of Covid vaccines, the easing of Covid restrictions, and the re-opening of businesses, it is about time that we re-launch #MissCebu. 
The attractions of Cebu City have evolved. We now have our Highland blooms and Eco-adventure tours, a revitalized heritage tour with the addition of American Era sites, Coastal tourism with our splendid view of the Cebu-Cordova Link Bridge, Ocean Park, channel cruises, canoeing activities, culinary tourism and as a destination for the Creative Industry. After all, we have been declared as a UNESCO Creative City of Design. 
It all started from humble beginnings. Back in the mid-90s, the group fielded a sole candidate – Sonia Santiago – for Bb. Pilipinas 1996. In between, more beautiful Filipinas started undergoing training and polish for bigger beauty competitions. And in the process, a good number of the ladies started winning national titles left and right, until their successes were justly rewarded when Precious Lara Quigaman was crowned Miss International 2005 – their very first claim to grand slam fame.

I can remember during one of his past interviews (watch below) for Assignment Asia of the China Global Television Network (CGTN) how Rodgil called beauty aspirants – “beauty athletes” – because all the learnings are continuously practiced in their individual lives outside the confines of the camp itself. I could not think of a more appropriate term that could better that.
Last night at the CCP Complex in Pasay City, Nicole Borromeo – representing the Sinulog Festival of Cebu – was crowned Reyna ng Aliwan 2019 in the annual competition and automatically became the Festival Queen of All Festivals. She also gifted her province its 9th win, strengthening Cebu’s excellent record in the search. She effectively followed the trail set by the likes of previous titleholders Jamie Herrell, Karla Henry, Cynthia Thomalla, Rogelie Catacutan, Angeli Dione Gomez, Marla Alforque, Steffi Pearson Aberasturi, Sian Maynard and the late Rizzini Alexis Gomez.
Fresh News! Congratulations are in order for newlyweds (Miss Earth 2008) Karla Henry and Rico Ammann who just tied the knot at Crimson Boracay.
PS. The groom, Rico, is the older brother of Miss World Philippines 2012 2nd Princess Vanessa Claudine Ammann.
