Cindy Dumol Roxas City, Capiz and Dennis Frias Malones of Bulacan Province were the big winners for Mr. & Miss Republic of the Philippines 2018 which had its finals at the Grand Ballroom of Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila. The pair will now be the new spokespersons of the organization that focuses on Tourism, Culture and Education as its main advocacies. They will travel around the Philippines and the Filipino Communities abroad to strengthen the efforts of the Department of Tourism to invite more visitors and balikbayans to the country as well as help in encouraging the youth to devote their time to education towards building a strong career in the future.
Pageant hosts were Ryan Tercero and Juliana Palermo, with guest performer Lance Busa.
Congratulations to all the winners!
Miss Singapore Universe 2012 Lynn Tan
Her name is Lynn Tan, aged 24, and 2011 FHM Model of the Year. And just last weekend, she was crowned Miss Universe Singapore 2012 and will now represent the island republic in this year’s edition in the Carribbean. What’s so special about her victory? Well, the mere fact that she has already posed seductively (and with the barest of lingerie) on the pages of FHM is reason enough for controversy if a Filipina would do the same and join Miss Universe Philippines. The latter would not even get past the first screening if ever (remember Juliana Palermo?) or the preliminaries before the finals (shades of Sandra Seifert). This goes to show some good level of maturity on the organizers of Singapore’s Miss Universe rep.

So how will Singapore’s bet fare in MU2012? Too early to make any assumptions. But if Lynn Tan’s winning of pageant special awards like Miss Body Beautiful and Miss Sensational Smile are any additional indications, she should leave some good marks side-by-side the other entrants this year. Who knows? She might do a Kathie Lee Lee Beng who placed in the Top 12 of MU1983.
Good luck, Lynn! 😉
