This is only a partial list. More ladies will join the group in the next week of two. But so far, the candidates I’m liking a lot are Jaine Hidalgo (Municipality of Milaor), Jonavie Quiray (Puerto Princesa) and Mary Sheila Rosales (Calapan City). The ladies from the Filipino Communities in the US East and West Coasts should also be interesting.
Quoted from the Miss Philippines-Earth website:
This 2011, the Miss Philippines-Earth beauty pageant dubbed as Beauties for a Cause aligns itself in the International Year of the Forests. Together with the Haribon Foundation, the candidates will take part in making the Philippines a greener nation as they go around communities to promote planting trees that are native to our country.
Coronation Night is set on June 5, 2011 at the Puerto Princesa City Coliseum and will be televised by ABS-CBN Channel 2.
Watch out for more updates of Miss Philippines Earth 2011! 😉
Jonavie Quiray is Malaysia-bound for the Miss Tourism International 2009 competition.
The year’s last international beauty competition will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia come New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2009. Miss Tourism International 2009 is scheduled to attract a good bevy of beauties from around the world as they give toast to the winner while fireworks and merry-making welcome the arrival of the year 2010.
The Philippine bet, Jonavie Quiray, will be leaving for Kuala Lumpur shortly as she joins international beauty delegates who will vie for the said crown. A send-off was hosted at the Banana Leaf Curry House in Podium to formally present the 22-year old lass to the press.
Jonavie, who is a graduating Architecture student of Palawan State University, says that she will describe to her fellow delegates how beautiful the Philippines is, as a major tourist destination in Asia. “I will describe our country positively, despite the recent floodings and typhoon that hit the country and the conflicts that happened in the Southern Region “.

Good luck to Jonavie as she tries to win the Miss Tourism International 2009 Beauty Pageant last won by a Filipina in 2000 when Peachy Manzano brought home the crown.
