Here’s the last batch of our glammed-up #Binibinis as photographed by Raymond Saldaña and Owen Reyes for Bb. Pilipinas 2019:
Mary Faye Murphy, Jessarie Dumaguing, Alannis Reign Binoya, Kimbeau Penchon, Francia Papa Layderos, Samantha Poblete, Vickie Rushton, Dia Nicole Mancao Magno and Joanna Tolledo.
Unlike last year when the highest crown was a lock for Catriona Gray since Day 1, the competition for this year’s Miss Universe Philippines alone is like a tight basketball playoff among eight (8) teams wanting to win the championship trophy. I say eight (8) because it symbolizes infinity where the movement is unending. Nobody has an idea where it will stop until the buzzer (or announcement of winners for that matter) finally sounds off on the night of June 9.
Of course, the organizers of Miss Universe Philippines and Binibining Pilipinas may already have clearer choices on who they would be happy to see winning among the forty (40) Official Candidates. But those preferences remain as such. They can still be upended by the Board of Judges during deliberation. The important thing is to make it to the eight-highest spots to be part of the winning circle from where the six (6) titleholders and two (2) runners-up will emerge.
This time around, I am taking a different approach in handing out my predictions for Miss Universe Philippines | Bb. Pilipinas 2019. Instead of just one collective blog entry two days before the Coronation Night, I will share with you my individual shortlists for the six (6) crowns at stake (read: six separate blogs) before zeroing in on who should win and who could win in my humble opinion.
But before starting off with my dedicated posts on who Miss Universe Philippines, Bb. Pilipinas International, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental, Bb. Pilipinas Supranational, Bb. Pilipinas Grand International and Bb. Pilipinas Globe could be, allow me to list down the names of the Binibinis who made it to the upper half of my choices – the Top 20, that is.
These twenty (20) ladies will – in one way or another – be part of the #Infinity8 for each of the titles. In the order of their assigned numbers now:
1. Jessica Marasigan of Malabon
2. Martina Turner Diaz of Muntinlupa
3. Sigrid Grace Flores of Iloilo
4. Marianne Marquez of Marikina
5. Gazini Ganados of Talisay, Cebu
6. Maria Andrea Abesamis of Pasig
7. Leren Mae Bautista of Laguna
8. Maria Isabela Galeria of Sorsogon
9. Denise Omorog of Baras, Catanduanes
10. Bea Patricia Magtanong of Bataan
11. Hannah Arnold of Masbate
12. Ilene de Vera of Mandaue City, Cebu
13. Julia Saubier of Daraga, Albay
14. Nicole Guerrero of Ilocos Sur
15. Samantha Lo of Cebu City
16. Emma Tiglao of Pampanga
17. Samantha Bernardo of Palawan
18. Resham Ramirez Saeed of Maguindanao
19. Vickie Marie Rushton of Negros Occidental
20. Joanna Tolledo of Caloocan
Gut-feel is telling me that all the winners will come from the above group.
Next stop: Who could be the next Bb. Pilipinas Globe?
In this blog entry are photos of the Bb. Pilipinas 2019 candidates who went up north to Vigan, Ilocos Sur for the out-of-town tour organized by Miss Universe Philippines for the national pageant.
Want to check out the National Costume photos of the Bb. Pilipinas 2019 candidates in their full unobstructed glory? Then head on over to Raymond Saldaña’s IG account @raymondsaldana_klickbox where he is uploading versions of his shots individually starting with the ones below.
Get to know your #Binibini40 Joanna Tolledo through her work evolution as a Shadow Teacher-turned-Guidance Counselor-turned-Businesswoman.
Joanna, 25, is proud of being both an Ilocana and a Bicolana. Her mom is from Pangasinan and her dad from Catanduanes. She grew up in Caloocan City, though. Before finishing a degree in Psychology, she was on scholarship at the University of Caloocan and this gave tremendous relief to her parents.
During college, Joanna trained in a SPED school as a shadow teacher a the period when she started to advocate for children with special needs.
After graduation, she immediately applied as a Grade School Guidance Counselor in a private school. Pageants became her thing only when she joined Miss Caloocan way back 2014 and won as first runner up.
At the moment, she is a model and entrepreneur at the same time. She runs a distribution company – importing international brands here in the Philippines.
What’s your take on Joanna?

Earlier at the launch of Ali X – the cool, hip and newest wing of Ali Mall at The Araneta Center, the 40 Binibinis of Bb. Pilipinas 2019 made their first public appearance. The ladies really enjoyed the Art+LifestyleXInterest vibe of the place.
Below are some of the photos taken during the event.
Interestingly enough, seven of the ten ladies who became Official Finalists for Century Tuna Superbods Ageless 2018 are familiar names and faces in pageantry like Miss World Philippines 2012 Queenie Rehman, the beautiful Kim Ross delos Santos, the very sporty Alexandra Faith Garcia, former Mutya and Miss World America runner-up Maureen Montagne, former Miss Philippines Earth runner-up Joanna Tolledo, the inspiring Christine Balaguer and former Miss Bikini Philippines participant Mariah Nilo.
Who do you think will do well in the fitness-driven competition among them?
Tonight, two beauty pageant finals will unfold simultaneously.
First is the Miss Global Philippines 2017 at Resorts World Manila where Camille Cj Hirro will crown her successor among the 22 beautiful contenders below. See who will take home the victory at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.
Best of luck to all the ladies, but most especially to my favorites Jacqueline Mayoralgo, Mary Ann Mungcal, Charmaine Aller, Frencheska Frias Nueva and Christine Balaguer.
normannorman.com will be at the venue to cover with Joy Arguil and Joseph Gerard V. Jose.

And over at the PICC Plenary Hall at CCP Complex in Pasay City, the thirty (30) candidates of Miss Manila 2017 will try to outshine each other as they go onstage for the crowning of a new face for the city to succeed Cristelle Tolentino.
I have more than a few ladies here who I want to land on top, such as former Binibini 4 Maria Gail Tobes, Kristine Montes, Joanna Tolledo, Katrina Sese and Athena Catriz.
Who will be the lucky girl to win PhP1 Million Pesos in the end?
Hi! Norman here. When I'm not working, I spend most of my free time planning on daily blogs. If you will notice, I always make sure that a fresh topic comes out everyday - not an easy thing to do but it's all good. Thanks for dropping by and enjoy the visit!
