The accepted ladies with the members of the screening panel
The screening panel included Christianne Ramos (in purple), Jean Tumang (in red), Jeslyn Santos (in black with gray blazer) and Anabel Tia (in black spaghetti strap). Domz Ramos of Pegarro Swim (2nd from right) was also part of the group
Last Saturday night, Jewel of the Philippines 2016 – the inaugural edition – had its screening at the Madison 101 Hotel & Tower in Quezon City. Beauty Queens and Binibinis – such as Miss United Continent Philippines 2015 Anabel Tia, Miss Tourism Philippines-Model of the Universe 2016 Jean Tumang, Miss World Peace Philippines 2015 (and Bb. Pilipinas 2016 candidate) Jeslyn Santos and Binibini 40 of Batch 2016 Christianne Ramos – joined the panel along with Domz Ramos of Pegarro Swim among others.
Pageant owner John dela Vega was visibly happy with the healthy turnout of ladies as he was already able to assemble at least half of the Official Candidates who will vie for the crowns at stake come August 10 at the Tanghalang Pasigueno. Winners will represent the country in Miss World Peace, Miss Bikini Universe and Charity Queen International.
Let’s follow this beauty competition and see who will shine even more once the real beauty battle begins. 😉

Yesterday afternoon at the McKinley Function Room of Manila Polo Club, a post-event Thanksgiving Party was held in honor of newly-crowned Miss Tourism Philippines 2016 Sharyl Diana Catchillar and her court of beauties. Members of the pageant media were invited by the organizers and the main honoree’s Kagandahang Flores camp which trained her for competition.
Sharyl, who is studying to become a Doctor in the future, was at her loveliest as she was formally presented to the Press, along with her advocacy to promote the Province of Pangasinan (which she represented in the pageant) and be of medical service to her fellow Filipinos someday.
Congratulations again, Sharyl! 🙂

This tall lady from Capas, Tarlac has a nice back story to tell
This 5’11” stunner from Capas, Tarlac is next in Team JDV’s line-up for Bb. Pilipinas 2016. Her name is Jean Lacsina Tumang. I will give the quick spotlight to her mentor – John dela Vega – now to describe the statuesque beauty in his own words:
Hi Norman. This is Jean Tumang, 21, from Capas, Tarlac, 5’11. Bb. Pilipinas first-timer. She is a Tourism graduate who is supposed to work for Philippine Airlines (PAL) as on-ground crew, but had to let go of the opportunity for her pageant dreams. She comes from humble beginnings. Her mother and father sell vegetables and stuff in the palengke (public market). And they also raise ducks. She grew up helping her parents raise them which are eventually sold for additional income.
There is always something about really tall young women that attract me to them. For starters, they easily stand out physically. And if they do deliver on the promise (good communication skills, charm and all) it comes easy to develop further fondness.
I want to see how Jean Tumang will register to me in person. She could be someone to look out for in tomorrow’s Bb. Pilipinas screenings. 🙂
