It was one of those pageant judging stints out of town that I enjoyed from start to finish, especially from an organization which made its initial foray into mounting a national beauty competition with an important cause.
Christine Juliane Opiaza (a former Slimmers World Miss Bikini Philippines titleholder) of Olongapo City was crowned as the #firstever Miss Econest 2018 last night at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center. It was the culmination of an almost whirlwind search for the young woman who will be the face and the voice to exemplify the #BeautyForSustainability thrust of the organizers. But more than being the new beacon of light for solid waste management and environmental causes, she will work hand-in-hand in reaching out to more people and making her reign more meaningful in the next twelve (12) months to come.
I doff my hat to Atty Beulah Coeli Catingub Fiel, Atty Shereen Olivia Sian, Direk Concon Siñel and the entire team for successfully crossing over the finish line and achieving what seemed to be just a big dream at the onset.
Kudos as well to Nicole Miñano and Leandrea Batingan for making it far in the competition.
