Get to know your #Binibini6 Jane Darren G. Genobisa through her tribe and a life full of trials and tribulations.
Jane was orphaned at early age. Her mother passed away when she was only 6 months old, while her father died from a fatal accident when she was 12. Raised by her grandparents, she was nurtured to become a person with strong values amidst the realities of life. She grew up in different town plazas because the family’s major source of income is running a #perya or amusement fair. Her childhood was like a merry-go-round full of ups and downs.
Jane has experienced sleeping on the streets and even in shanties. She met a lot of people with different personalities, attitudes, backgrounds and even encountered a string of humiliations because of her status in life. Tough love and situations molded her to become what she is today – a strong fighter.

This #Binibini’s ancestors are the Lumads who belong to the group of the Bagobos from Tagabawa tribe. And her advocacy is to uplift the health, education and safety of the Bagobo children, while preserving their culture and traditions as well as the other indigenous groups in the country.
