The successful conclusion of Miss Q&A on It’s Showtime gathered tens of thousands of Filipinos whose eyes were glued on the small screen to witness the crowning of Juliana Parizcova Segovia as the Grand Winner.
The popularity of the said contest was so huge that it crossed all classes in society, viewership-wise. I myself was amazed when – upon passing by the public commute station in our village – practically all the tricycle and jeepney drivers were eagerly watching and awaiting the announcement of the winners till the very end. Just like a Pacquiao bout.
It only goes to show that – indeed – beauty pageants are already an ingrained lifestyle among Filipinos. It may be of pure entertainment value for many, but the nationwide acceptance of Miss Q&A is an indication that a third wheel has reached mainstream levels in Philippine pageantry. I will go out on a limb and say that gay/transgender beauty contests have already overtaken male competitions for second place.

How would Bb. Pilipinas Grand International 2016 Nicole Cordoves answer the “Build, Build, Build” question that was unfortunately asked of (the clueless but honest) Sandra Lemonon during the Bb. Pilipinas 2018 Top 15 Q&A?
And while we are in the subject of Nicole who works with Manila Bulletin (aside from being one of the “hurados” on It’s Showtime), check out the interview video filmed at the broadsheet’s headquarters with the new titleholders.
Who doesn’t watch Miss Q&A on It’s Showtime nowadays? All eyes are glued on this segment of the noontime show that it has become such a popular viewing fare that nobody wants to pass up on. And when Matrica Mae “MatMat” Centino won the crown for the tenth time, she automatically advanced to the Grand Finals – and became Hall of Famer – of the search and was promptly guested by host Boy Abunda in his nightly show on ABS-CBN.
Here are videos from her TV interview guesting. Watch now.

And since we’re in the subject of Miss Q&A, below is resident judge Miss Grand International 2016 1st Runner-Up Nicole Cordoves defending her style of judging on the show.
This one’s a quick shout-out for my friend pageant trainer and Ariella Arida-discoverer Ghune Katigbak who has fielded an entry in the ongoing “Gandang Lalake 2014” (Beautiful Guy 2014) competition on ABS-CBN’s ‘It’s Showtime’.
5’9″ Jerome Gunday is a 21 year-old native of San Pablo City, Laguna who works as a casino dealer. He is part of GK Kings & Queens.
I believe it’s already the semi-finals of the said contest, and Jerome is scheduled to appear in the show this coming Thursday, October 16.
I really don’t have the time to watch the noontime show (because of work), but do catch his turn (if you’re free to watch) and tell me if he’s doing his mentor proud. 😉
Hi! Norman here. When I'm not working, I spend most of my free time planning on daily blogs. If you will notice, I always make sure that a fresh topic comes out everyday - not an easy thing to do but it's all good. Thanks for dropping by and enjoy the visit!
