I’m this close to having a Zach Galifianakis-overload……what with blogging yesterday about a (still-unreleased) movie featuring him and posting another one today with him as one of the leads.
Anyways, the Ned Vizzini novel “It’s Kind of a Funny Story” is all about 16-year-old Craig (to be played by Keir Gilchrist) who, stressed out from the demands of being a teenager, checks himself into a mental health clinic. There, he meets another patient, Bobby (to be played by Zach Galifianakis), who becomes both his mentor and protege’.
I haven’t read the book so I asked my niece who happens to have finished the same way back and is quite thrilled that the novel is now a film. She’s a bit iffy about Julia Roberts’ niece, Emma, playing the role of Noelle, but hopes that this is a faithful adaptation nonetheless.
Watch the HD trailer below first and tell me if you’re cool with how the movie looks like compared to the book…at least with what the preview shows:

It’s Kind of a Funny Story is presented by Focus Features and co-directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck based on Ned Vizzini’s book of the same title. It stars Keir Gilchrist, Zach Galifianakis, Emma Roberts, Lauren Graham, Zoe Kravitz and Viola Davis. It opens in the US (most likely on limited release) on September 24, 2010. I doubt if it will see the light of day in the Philippines soon after but it will eventually find a space in my dvd case.
