Francine Garcia (aka Kim Chiu of QC) was crowned Super Sireyna Queen of Queens 2013.
The eight Super Sireyna Queens
Guys, I want to share with you the much talked-about Grand Finals of Super Sireyna Queen of Queens 2013. Below are the videos divided into six parts. Apologies for the less than clear quality, but this is the most complete set I could find on Youtube. Just the same, you will be amazed at the finalists, most especially the world-class fantasy costumes. The Q&A, especially of the winner Francine Garcia, was a killer (what with a killer question from judge Isabelle Daza). I was impressed with the whole event over-all. Do watch now. 😉

Isabelle Daza (L) and Georgina Wilson in a kiss almost too good to be locked.
Our favorite non-beauty queen beauties are in the news again. And this time, Isabelle Daza and Georgina Wilson are throwing their support for gay rights by uploading a photo on Instagram showing them in an oh-so-intriguing kiss that is drawing mixed reactions from the public. We all know that two are as gay-friendly as the next fag hag. But we are also aware that they are cousins in real life. So take your side on the controversy if you will.
Personally, I don’t really care that much although the ‘incestuous’ tag is spicy while it lasts. It is blog-worthy as well. 😉
With Philippine Fashion Week/Holiday 2013 unfolding tomorrow at the SMX Convention Center (with SM Mall of Asia, The Fort Strip and Prive’ Luxury Clubbing as the other sub-venues), I just thought of sharing my photo inspiration for the day showing two of our favorite non-Beauty Queens-we-all-want-to-become-Binibinis in the promo ad of Bench for the said event.
Isabelle Daza and Georgina Wilson are beautifully captured locked in each other’s arms and hips while wearing the latest skinny denim line of the famous clothing/undergarment brand. In a way, I tend to get frustrated knowing that these two gorgeous ladies have already decided to pass up on the opportunity to join Bb. Pilipinas. While they may no longer be spring chicken, one of them would have still made it in this year’s batch and become our bet to Miss Universe 2013. But then again, it just wasn’t meant to be. Oh well…
Anyways, you can catch the Bench segment of Philippine Fashion Week this coming Sunday, May 26, at SMX Function Rooms 4 & 5. It will start at 6:00PM.
I bet Isabelle and Georgina will be there. 😉
Photos during the Grand Tea Party of former Bb. Pilipinas winners at the Madame's White House
Since the world is celebrating Mothers Day, I thought of linking the special occasion to beauty pageants. And what better way than to focus on two special icons of Philippine pageantry – Madame Stella Marquez de Araneta and Ms. Gloria Diaz. Their photo (thanks, Bruce Casanova) during the Grand Tea Party of former Bb. Pilipinas winners inspired to me say a few about them serving as our mother images as well when it comes to what we love the most.

The Madame – amidst all the never-ending complaints and criticisms we may have hurled about how she should improve or elevate Bb. Pilipinas to standards (and practices) we all feel are keeping up with the times – remains a steadfast supporter of our beauty queens. She would give our ladies the best possible training and preparation (based on budget) for the global stage, as well as inspire them to be the best internationally. But just like any typical mother, she would not resort to spoiling, and instead, insure that they keep their feet solidly planted on the ground. And while she doesn’t have an ounce of Filipino blood running in her veins, I couldn’t think of any other person who would have spent practically an entire lifetime running and organizing the national pageant this long. Some individuals may disagree, but she has something any other interested pageant leader will never have – a formidable track record.
Miss Universe and daughter - Gloria Diaz and Isabelle Daza.
And how about our first Miss Universe? Gloria Diaz has been a beacon of light for all aspiring beauty queens since winning the title back in 1969. She has always served as the go-to authority when it comes to imparting words of wisdom to our competing ladies. What’s more, her countless presence in the annual finals only shows the undying support to the organization that has continuously given us the best of the Filipinas for the whole world to see and appreciate. She may not care that her beautiful daughter, Isabelle Daza, follows her footsteps or not. But that’s just being a mother allowing her own child to pursue what she freely wants to do in life.
And with that, I salute all mothers and the unstinting love and devotion showered to their children. We may not always be the most compliant, reciprocal and affectionate in all the sacrifices and unconditional love given us, but we do return the same in our own way, be it small or unnoticeable at times.
Happy Mothers Day! 😀
The gorgeous Isabelle Diaz Daza
I want to dedicate my last post for 2012 to a Filipina I am so hoping and wishing to represent us in Donald Trump’s pageant, such that if I am given the power to nominate one sure bet for Miss Universe Philippines 2013, only one name will come out of my lips: Isabelle Daza.
Isabelle wearing the Miss Universe crown her mom won back in 1969. The event was a Mad Hatter's Ball hosted by Tim Yap.
The daughter and deadringer of 1969 Miss Universe Gloria Diaz, Isabelle is the epitome of a real Pinay beauty for the Universe. She is beautiful and sensual, highlighted by facial features that can leave both men and women in awe. Her good height of 5’7″ might seem middling to most, but she has this excellent posture that gives the vision of a much taller individual. And those oh-so enviable cheekbones! Not a few ladies would agree to go under the knife just to achieve the same. What’s more, a much-longed for participation in Miss Universe – if ever – would be good publicity in itself for the competition.

So as we bid farewell to the Year of the Dragon that is 2012, let me share my fervent pageant wish that Isabelle finally gives us bloggers, fans and followers the precious “yes” to Bb. Pilipinas 2013.
Otherwise, we should all look for someone who can measure up to our already high standards for the title – quite a Herculean task to accomplish within the next couple of months. 😉
Happy New Year! 😀
Isabelle Daza on the May 2012 cover of Rogue Magazine
The photoshoot was nearly stopped by the cover girl’s mother. As a result, the concept was adjusted to show less skin and more of graphic details. And just when everyone thought things were already fine, a rift between mother and daughter expectedly ensued to fuel more fire to the already brewing controversy (sort of). All in a few days’ worth of drama for the May 2012 issue of Rogue Magazine.
Isabelle Daza, daughter of 1969 Miss Universe Gloria Diaz, is yummily bedecked in white and splashed with blood in a Dexter-ish pose complete with a murderous butcher knife and a beauty queen’s crown to complete the pose. The end result sets a trend-setting cover that veered away from the usually edgy dolled-up sexiness men’s magazines are known for. And I love it! 😀
