I just love how Emma Watson has blossomed into a stunningly beautiful and fashionable young woman. We saw her grow from a sweet little thing named Hermione Granger to a precious teener in all the Harry Potter movies. And now that the film franchise will wrap up this summer, she has nowhere to go but up.
There is a very impressive quality in how she was able to transform herself into an elegant and charming lady, as you can see in the 1920’s-inspired photos below:
From hereon, Emma will become more famous, despite her earnest desire to find normalcy in the chaotic life of a global celebrity. Here are excerpts from her interview with Vogue, as transcribed by NY Daily news:
Watson tells Vogue that she’s still figuring out her way in the world after having spent her formative years in front of the camera as the brainy witch Hermione Granger.
“I have lived in a complete bubble,” she told Vogue. “They found me and picked me for the part. And now I’m desperately trying to find my way through it.”
She’s already on the way to becoming a fashion and beauty veteran.
Watson has appeared in ad campaigns for Burberry and has helped design three organic clothing collections for People Tree.
“It was such hard work,” Watson said. “I didn’t realize what I was taking on. I was doing 12-hour days on Harry Potter and then coming home to work for two more hours, sizing and cutting designs.”
She said that she “practically cried” when famed Italian designer Alberta Ferretti approached her about collaborating on the eco-friendly line Pure Threads.
Watson is no stranger to the beauty business either.
In April, Lancôme made her the face of its Trésor Midnight Rose fragrance.
She told Vogue that her fondness for cosmetics began in the makeup trailer while she was filming the early Harry Potter films. There, she would experiment with makeup artist Amanda Knight’s products.
“That was my playground,” she said. “I would sit and play with lipsticks, foundations, and eye shadows; and every now and then Amanda would let me do the extras’ face paint for the Quidditch matches.”
Still, Watson’s role model isn’t that of a model, a designer or a movie star – It’s musician and poet Patti Smith.
Watson, who said that she was incredibly moved by Smith’s recent autobiography “Just Kids,” found her to be an inspiration.
“I want to live like Patti. I want to write like Patti,” she said. “The book was so honest and brave. I loved the way she sees the world. I really felt that life was more beautiful after I read it and I felt more hopeful.”
Welcome to the real un-wizardry world outside of Harry Potter, Emma! And good luck! 🙂
