Despite the intermittent rains, Val went through the motorcade like a real trouper.
Getting herself ready for the courtesy calls
Earlier in the day, newly-crowned Miss World Philippines 2014 Valerie Weigmann departed for Legazpi City in Albay where a scheduled homecoming took place in her mother’s birthplace. Together with Ms. Cory Quirino and handler Caloy Buendia, they had separate courtesy calls with Gov. Joey Salceda and Vice-Gov. Harold Imperial. A motorcade followed which, despite the drizzles, went on as planned. A meet-up was also conducted where members of the Bicol Press showed up to do interviews and be in awe with her beautiful presence.
Our Queen also visited two evacuation centers in Camalig North and Upper Malabog to see for herself the condition of the families staying there.
All in all, it was a day well-spent for Valerie. It may have been a tiring sked, but nothing that would keep her from doing each and every detail in her full itinerary. 🙂

Daragang Magayon 2014 Jacqueline Bernarte
When Jacqueline Bernarte of Bacacay, Albay was proclaimed winner of Daragang Magayon 2014 earlier this week, Gov. Joey Salceda mentioned in a posted article
by pnabicol that “The beauty pageant reflects our never-ending quest for beauty and excellence in all aspects of our being — even in the face of nature’s anger and unfriendly weather condition!” he said.
It is just a simple beauty pageant, Salceda said, “but if we extrapolate the same principles, the same aspirations, the same strategies and the same energies to larger endeavors, then this beauty pageant becomes a paragon for excellence.”
Big words in describing the regional beauty competition if you ask me. At any rate, I like it that the judging was based largely on the personality and over-all disposition instead of just physical assets.
Can we expect to see a big transformation for Jacqueline in preparation for Bb. Pilipinas 2015? 🙂
