nereku In what could be described as one of the big city’s most eagerly-awaited fashion events of the year, Nereku Manila unveiled a runway show at the Fashion Hall of SM Megamall last night that featured the shoe designer’s divine footwear collection infused with the creations of some of our popular local and international designers. If that’s not enough, an exhibit was simultaneously inaugurated – which will be open to the public starting today till tomorrow, June 20 – where his more interesting and talk-worthy pieces are on display for everyone to see, appreciate and rave about.

It was a glittery night alright with the participation of the likes of Miss Universe Philippines 2014 MJ Lastimosa, International model and Mr. World Philippines 2015 Sam Ajdani, Miss Philippines Earth 2013 & Miss Multiverse Philippines 2015 Angelee delos Reyes, Miss Intercontinental Czech Republic 2014 Lenka Josefiova, Mutya ng Pilipinas Eva Patalinjug, Miss Bikini Philippines 2014 Hazel Ortiz, Mr. International Philippines 2013 Gil Wagas Jr, Mr. Global Philippines 2014 Joseph Doruelo, Mister United Continents Philippines 2015 Reynaldo Cataluna III, Miss Bikini Philippines 2015 1st Runner-Up Angelu Gonzales, plus professional runway models Jinlyn Talacod and Aaron de Tomasso. The designer himself was so happy with the successful turnout of guests and supporters, inspite of the heavy traffic and the on-and-off rainshowers that could have delayed the start of the program proper. Happily, everything went on nearly as scheduled under the eagle-eyed supervision of the Director, Shandy Montecarlo Lim.

This is one #Shoesyal show indeed.

Nothing beats love in making life even sweeter. It is the pure source of inspiration that makes a person look even more beautiful than she already is.

And in the case of Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia-Pacific International 2014 Eva Patalinjug, love will take greater heights next month when she celebrates the 3rd Anniversary of her relationship with Mr. International Philippines 2013 (and Mister International 2013 4th Runner-up) Gil Wagas, Jr. Truth be told, it is not very often that two pageant winners end up together, and strongly at that. Perhaps, it helps that there is a good foundation in their bond. And the two lovebirds from Cebu are very open about their affection for each other.

I love it that you’re constantly in love, Eva! Take good care of your special ‘Badong’ the way he loves you back even more. 🙂

The Misters of the Philippines 2014 Official Candidates during the Press Presentation

The strictly-by-invitation affair was exclusively conducted to acknowledge the attendance of accredited media.

Actually, the entries from San Luis, Pampanga (Glenn Suba) and UAE (Ibahn Corum Francisco) were still unaccounted for, so I hope to see them in the next event.

But from among the two dozen hopefuls who vied for the attention of the Press, there were actually eight who caught my eye – Neil Perez, Elvin Tiel, Joseph Doruelo, John Israel San Luis, Adam Davies, Nicko Cruz, Bernard Sumera and Judah Cohen. Three other entries – Ichin Daclan, Mario Esquierdo Jr. and Alvin Arranguez – could be possible spoilers to this group.

The candidates in their swimwears

The set-up of the competition will have four (4) fast track event (Talent, Swimwear, Formal Wear and Resort Wear) winners getting automatically seeded to the Top 14 come finals night on September 7. Ten other guys with the highest preliminary scores will make up the remaining qualifiers.

Four lucky delegates will be declared winners in the end, with all of them to be fielded for competition abroad – Mister International, Mister Model International, Mister Global and Mister Tourism International.

Let’s see who will continue to shine bright in the days ahead. 😉

STORMY BIRTHDAY FOR MISTER INTERNATIONAL PHILIPPINES 2013

While the entire metropolis was busy preparing for the arrival of Typhoon Glenda last July 15, the organizing committee of Misters of the Philippines, Prime Event Productions Philippines Foundation Inc., had a simple get-together to usher in the birthday of Mister International Philippines 2013 and Mister International 4th Runner-Up Gil Wagas Jr.

“I’m surprised! I thought I was going to a photoshoot tonight, but it turned out to be a celebration instead,” smiled Wagas, who arrived in Manila from his native Cebu.

This was an advanced celebration for the first Filipino ever to reach the top 5 of the most prestigious pageant for men in the world today.
