Welcome back to the Philippines, Mister Universal Ambassador 2018 George Reylor de Lumen! Our new international pride in pageantry – and a male winner at that – flew in at 15:00hrs earlier from New Delhi via Kuala Lumpur.
We are so proud of you! 🇵🇭🤴🏼👏🏼 #misteruniversalambassador2018
Below is the Press Release of his win:
After the Philippines placed in the Top 10 during the inaugural edition last 2015, moved up to 2nd Runner-Up position last 2016 and inched so close to the title with a 1st Runner-Up finish last year, the #1 spot was finally claimed by a Filipino this year. George Reylor de Lumen is Mister Universal Ambassador 2018.
George, a 23 year-old model, digital artist and illustrator from Marikina City, outclassed eighteen (18) other candidates to become the first Philippine winner of the international male competition that culminated in the Grand Finals last November 24 at the Arya Auditorium Des Raj in Arya, New Delhi, India.
Armed with a good height of 6’1”, youthful looks that bring out his undeniable millennial appeal, talents that showcase his love for music & the arts and the heart of a true champion, George wowed the judges, organizers and fellow candidates from the get-go. In fact, he practically dominated all pre-pageant segments including the tough speech challenge where he was awarded the Best in Speech Special Award during the Finals. If that’s not enough, he also amazed everyone in the National Costume Competition where he wore an “Ibong Adarna”-inspired masterpiece by Designer Michael Barassi. He likewise topped this part with two trophies to show for his efforts before finally rising up the ladder of judgment.
He initially made the first cut to Final 12 before taking a well-earned spot in the Top 6. From that point, he showed his speech skills by convincing the panel of his reasons behind wanting to win the title. That pushed him to the Final 3 where he picked a question that he answered in a straightforward no-nonsense manner. And the rest is history.
It was an ASEAN sweep for the Top 3 with Agung Wira Jaya of Indonesia and Chitsanupong Soeksiri of Thailand taking 2nd and 3rd placements, respectively.
Let us celebrate the victory of George Reylor de Lumen who fulfilled his promise of winning the title in India. Indeed, he is a captivating role model who wears the crown on his head and advocacies in his heart.
Mabuhay ka!

George with his ever-reliable Manager James Tiu
