Continuing now with the second part of introductory blog features about the Official Candidates of Mr & Miss Hannah’s World Tourism Philippines 2018, I give you an interesting pair of young contenders – George Reylor de Lumen #TheAdventureArtist and Mitzi Daryl Balatbat #TheOperaDiva.
To say that George is a young man of many talents would be an understatement. He is a skilled illustrator, a smooth dancer, a photography hobbyist and even an amateur baker/pastry maker. But more than anything else, this representative from Marikina City finds life’s thrills in mountain/rock climbing and getting regular communes with nature.
“I find my own adventure in arts. I live and grow through my passion in illustration as well as performing to inspire other people. I taught myself to design and draw, and can even dub cats and dogs.”
A God-fearing artist who loves his family very much, he always thinks of his mom everytime he performs onstage.
“I also find interest in watching documemtary films about thr environment, history and challenges in life. And speaking of challenges, I’d have to admit that I really do love Math, though it never loved me back the way I want to be a master in the subject.”
The minute she starts singing, your jaws will drop in awe. That is the instant effect of this talented lady from Antipolo City.
Gifted with the voice of an angel, Mitzi Daryl Balatbat, or “Bim” if you will, is a 22 year-old Soprano Operatic Singer who will graduate Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music degree Major in Voice from University of the Philippines Diliman College of Music. And mind you, she is not only a student but also a private music teacher of Voice, Piano, and Choir.
“Singing is not only a hobby but a passion, and my goal is to motivate and inspire other people to listen and revive the uniqueness of classical music. I always wanted to share my God-given talent to everyone – not to impress – but to give new learning experiences and make them value the richness of the genre. As I grow and experience life, I always believe in my philosophy of, “Dream Big, Aim High, Hit the Mark and Never give up!”.
Below is Bim during one of her operatic performances.
