Miss Vietnam and Miss Philippines – last two women standing for The Miss Globe 2017
Asian power was at its finest in Tirana, Albania when Miss Vietnam Do Tran Khanh Ngan won The Miss Globe 2017 with Miss Philippines Nelda Ibe getting 1st Runner-Up.
Miss Siberia Elena Latypova is 2nd Runner-Up. Miss Albania Alessia Çoku is 3rd Runner-Up. Miss Capo Verde Simone Heijligers is 4th Runner-Up.
While the transmission was not at its best, kudos to the organizers for staging the pageant creditably well.
Kudos as well to Bb. Pilipinas Globe 2017 Nelda Ibe for bagging 1st Runner-Up honors, plus National Costume Maker Frederick Berches and Evening Gown Designer Paolo Blanco for making her look more radiant onstage during the Finals. Jojo Bragais provided the heels all throughout the competition.
During The Miss Bikini Competition (or like the Swimsuit Prejudging) of The Miss Globe 2017, Miss Philippines Nelda Ibe was one of the candidates who really stood out. As a result, she was named 2nd Runner-Up behind the entries of Nigeria (winner) and Albania (1st Runner-Up).
Kudos, my dear #PilotBeautyQueen!
And in other parts of the contest, the National Costume photo of Nelda was already released, showing her in a Sampaguita and Ilang-Ilang-inspired Filipiniana created by Lumban-based Designer Frederick Berches.
Miss Philippines Earth 2017 Candidate Samantha Acosta

When Samantha Viktoria Leonardo Acosta set out to join Miss Philippines Earth 2017, she did so with her heart and mind in focus to do well in the annual environment-themed competition. The eagerness and enthusiasm in this lady is what I always see, especially the last time we chanced upon each other (along with her parents) at Cravings the other afternoon right before our coverage for Mister & Miss Culture World 2017.
Sam was wearing red and all smiles when we saw each other. She just did her live chat with the other MPE candidates and excited to share the other accomplishments she has done so far as an Earth Warrior, like her Green Time Project with high school students in Pulilan, Bulacan and other nearby towns in her province.

Sam also shared with me that Lumban-based Designer Frederick Berches will do her Cultural Costume and Evening Gown for the competition. What a welcome sight she would be in the creations of the man who did the Filipiniana attire of Mariam Habach of Venezuela during the 65th Miss Universe.
It’s really going to be all-out for this lovely lass in Miss Philippines Earth. I hope that she can really muster all the discipline and determination to do well in the pageant.
Choosing the best among this year’s National Costumes for Bb. Pilipinas 2017
Prior to judging, there was a video shoot at the Gateway Tower Penthouse
Last night, the forty (40) Binibinis privately paraded to a panel of judges (headed by Madame SMA) wearing their awe-inspiring National Costumes to select the best among this year’s offerings from some of the country’s best designers. The winner will be announced on April 30.
And earlier yesterday as well, the Binibinis were shot on video wearing the traditional garbs at the Penthouse of Gateway Tower. The clips will be shown on Coronation Night as well. Thankfully, the respective designers were interviewed on-cam by ABS-CBN Lifestyle so that they can proudly talk about their masterpieces.
Here are some of the individual photos during the judging.
I know that the hardworking Designers who created the fabulous National Costumes for the Binibinis of Bb. Pilipinas 2017 toiled on their respective works so it is but fitting that we give credit to each one of them.
Let’s continue with Binibinis 11-20 dressed up by Patricia Santos, Val Taguba, Roland Alzate, Sony Boy Mindo, Cary Santiago, Adriano Samar, Emar Vida, Frederick Berches and Nick Guarino as officially photographed by Raymond Saldaña below.
Hi! Norman here. When I'm not working, I spend most of my free time planning on daily blogs. If you will notice, I always make sure that a fresh topic comes out everyday - not an easy thing to do but it's all good. Thanks for dropping by and enjoy the visit!
