And so, another “Festival of Beauty” is completed in Nowy Sacz, Poland with the selection of the new Miss and Mister Supranational over the weekend. Africa and Latin America lorded it over the competition with both regions claiming 1-2 finishes in both.

Chanique Rabe of Namibia was crowned Miss Supranational 2021 with Karla Guilfu Acevedo of Puerto Rico as 1st Runner-Up. On the other hand, Varo Vargas of Peru topped the male side by winning Mister Supranational 2021. His 1st Runner-Up is Abdel-Kacem Tefridj of Togo.

The Philippines did fairly well with Dindi Pajares making it to Top 12 in Miss Supranational and John Adajar entering the Top 20 of Mister Supranational. For whatever reason/s behind not advancing higher, it’s all water under the bridge now. We can only look forward to sending a more branding-friendly and well-prepared pair the next time.

If the organizers continue with a Summer schedule for their pageants (which they should so as not to compete with Miss Universe and Miss World happening during the Holiday Season), then it would do well to select a Miss Supranational Philippines 2022 from the current batch of Miss World Philippines 2021 candidates. As for the guys, the delayed staging of Mr World Philippines 2021 can also select a winner for Mister Supranational 2022.

Hopefully, the pandemic will slow down and allow us to return to at least a semblance of the old normal – or the #NowNormal if you will.
