It is intentional for this blog entry to be filled with photos of the subject posing with her furry and feathered friends. For Miss Universe Philippines 2020 candidate Faye Dominique Deveza of Quezon Province, an advocacy comes from the heart and it should be something that she is truly passionate about. The fun part is icing on the cake.
Helping others is nothing new to Nikki. So for the national pageant, she opted to focus on something different – her love for animals. She believes that animals are never ours to wear, to experiment with and to abuse in any way. It is her choice to protect animals against cruelty and stand up for their rights.
As for the quarantine period, it really effected positive changes in her personality. Since the family business is in selling chickens, she hatched the idea to prepare meals for frontliners. Part of the profits were used to do their “Sharing is Caring” food charity. As such, she worked double time to have more sales and be able to help in the process. She wakes up at 5:30am for the store opening because the bulk of buyers will only be around till 1:00pm.
On the side, she continues to stay fit and healthy. She religiously follows her exercise routines while eating healthy food to gain more muscles. A self-confessed dog lover, she walks and runs with her dog Max so that both of them can stay in shape.
Community quarantine is all I need to think of other ways to spend my time more productively. And with 31 of the 51 #BeyondTheCoastlines videos for Miss Universe Philippines 2020 already released, I made a clip combining bits and pieces of their efforts.

Mutya ng Lucban 2013 Angelica Duran
Mutya ng Lucban-Turismo Faye Dominique Deveza
In the recently-concluded finals of Mutya ng Lucban 2013 held last May 9 inside the grounds of Southern Luzon State University, five beautiful ladies were announced as top finishers. Heading the list of winners is Mutya ng Lucban 2013 Angelica V. Duran, with Maros Faller Salvatierra and Faye Dominique Deveza getting nods for Mutya ng Lucban Pahiyas and Mutya ng Lucban Turismo, respectively. Maria Aira Elloso and Camelle Rose Guiang completed the circle as runners-up.
Duran, a student of Accountancy at the University of Santo Tomas, will serve as ambassadress of Lucban (one of the more progressive towns in Quezon Province) for one full year. I wouldn’t be surprised if she considers joining one of our national pageants come 2014. In fact, even Salvatierra and Deveza can look at trying their luck next year. The top 3 placers are beautiful and refreshing enough to potentially become beauty contestants in the big league.
Hi! Norman here. When I'm not working, I spend most of my free time planning on daily blogs. If you will notice, I always make sure that a fresh topic comes out everyday - not an easy thing to do but it's all good. Thanks for dropping by and enjoy the visit!
