Far East Movement is made up of Kev Nish, Prohgress, J-Splif and DJ Virman.
I’m just taking a quick break from the Bb. Pilipinas 2011 Blog Bites to give way to Far East Movement (also known as FM) which is one of my favorite singing groups at the moment. In fact, I blogged about one of their songs “Rocketeer” being one of my Top 5 for 2010.
For the uninitiated, Far East Movement is an Asian American electro hop quartet based in Los Angeles, California. Members Kev Nish, Prohgress, J-Splif and DJ Virman represent Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Filipino Hawaiian descent. The group has bridged the gap between underground party records and mainstream hip-hop and pop. They blend elements of hip-hop, pop, electro and dance to create an original sound and lifestyle they call ‘Free Wired’.
Still scratching your head? Then the song Like A G6 should do it. Otherwise, watch the video below featuring the group when they guested in Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Here’s good news for fans of (and those interested in) the quartet. They will be coming to Manila this March for not one, but two shows! You’d better save up on the dough because the venue is not exactly the most reasonably-priced, with Republiq being a high-end nightclub.
Date: 21-22 March 2011
Venue: Republiq (inside Resorts World Manila), Pasay City, Manila, Philippines
For ticket details, text 0917-5508888 or visit the website of Republiq
Just before I end this blog about their concert, listen to “Like a G” below:
