But don’t worry, guys and gays. He also makes fab footwear for you. In fact, one of my wishes right now is to own an original and wear the pair proudly during the events that I cover.
Now if you want your custom-made Nere Ku, just message him on Facebook and I’m sure he can arrange an appointment and take your feet specifications.
Do it now before he becomes more busy and famous. 😉
Ma. Carmella Michelle Dolmer is crowned Daragang Magayon 2015!
Fresh from the Albay Astrodome, the winners of Daragang Magayon Festival 2015 were crowned in a festive celebration of beauty, elegance and all-around charm.
Top favorite Ma. Carmella Michelle Dolmer was named Daragang Magayon 2015. The 17 year-old beauty of Filipino-Canadian lineage led the competition from start to finish after getting a lion’s share of the special awards, aside from charming the star-studded panel of judges. She stands 5’8″.
With more training, I’m pretty sure we’ll see more of this drop dead gorgeous girl come 2016 in the nationals. She will be safely 18 by then and fully polished.
1st Runner-Up is Francia Layderos with 2nd Runner-Up honors going to Christine Arnedo. Named Daragang Magayon Turismo is Iana Villania, while Carmela Doma took home Daragang Magayon Almasor.
Hosted by Isabelle Daza, the board of judges included celebrities like Jaclyn Jose, Eula Valdez, Angel Aquino, Joyce Ann Burton-Titular and Lem Pelayo, together with model Rocky Salumbides, designers Jojie Lloren & Frederick Peralta plus special guest Geoff Eigenmann.
Congratulations are in order for Ma. Carmella Michelle Dolmer and her handler Jud Ballesteros who happens to be the regional mentor of Bb. Pilipinas 2015 Official Candidate Marvi Ann de Lima. I’m truly happy with this victory! 😀

The 2010 Metro Manila Film Festival will open on Christmas Day, December 25, but this early, one of the official entries is already creating waves in the industry. “ROSARIO” – a period film about a woman ahead of her time – is the first directorial job of actor Albert Martinez (credited here as Alberto P. Martinez). Just watching the trailer gave me the impression that this is going to be an excellent movie that any Pinoy can be proud of. Its lead star – Jennylyn Mercado – is sure to zoom in the star chart and will very likely win her first Best Actress award ever.
According to Wikipedia: “Based on a true story and set in one of the most colorful periods in Philippine history, ROSARIO is destined to be a modern masterpiece in Philippine filmmaking. It is a monumental yet intimate portrait of a woman’s emancipation and the sometimes painful consequencesof following one’s desires.”
“ROSARIO” is the official entry of Cinemabuhay & Studio 5 in the 2010 Metro Manila Film Festival. Directed by Alberto P. Martinez. Starring: Jennylyn Mercado, Sid Lucero, Yul Servo, Isabel Oli, Jerould Aceron, and Dennis Trillo. With the special participation of Philip Salvador, Eula Valdez, Rita Avila, Ricky Davao, and Dolphy.
Watch out for it! 😉
Starstruck V – GMA-7’s reality based artista search – is more than halfway through by now with only 8 of the Final 14 left to slug it out for the Top 2 spots. Actually, they should have already been reduced to 7 last Sunday night, but the Starstruck council used their one-time power to stop the elimination after realizing that the bottom two in terms of scores and vote support – Rocco Nacino and Sarah Lahbati – are actually their personal front-runners. Thus, there is a good chance that there will be another double elimination on the evening of January 24. It might even be a triple if Ian Batherson enters the bottom three for the 3rd time and gets automatically removed from the competition.
Anyways, here are the remaining Starstruck V showbiz wannabes:
If you have been following the show, you will know what I mean when I point out that each of the remaining 8 have gone through roller-coaster performances, week in and week out. True, the top gunners are Rocco Nacino and Sarah Lahbati, but they have reached a plateau the past two weeks and proof of that is their entry to the bottom 2 last week. I hope they sustain their drive to win, or else, Enzo Pineda and Rox Montealegre might just nose them out when the going gets tough. Or even the surprisingly strong Steven Silva (he has never been in the bottom 3 from the start) and charming Nina Kodaka (who, depsite her oft languid stance, keeps up with the competition.)
On a personal note, I got disappointed when Piero Vergara was eliminated two sundays ago. Along with Rocco Nacino, they are the two guys I expected to fight it out for the top male spot. But as luck would have it, Piero scored high on the “out” votes of the show’s fans and supporters.
Below are the two video clips of “Monsters” – the ensemble acting challenge of the Starstruck contenders together with actress Eula Valdez, directed by Maryo J. Delos Reyes and written by (playwright and Starstruck council member) Floy Quintos:
