Miss Earth Ecuador 2012 Tatiana Torres
Everyone was expecting Estefania Realpe to carry the colors of Ecuador in Miss Earth 2012. Even this blogger included her in the shortlist of ladies to watch – a very worthy follow-up to last year’s Olga Alava. But when the days of arrival in the Philippines came, there was no sign of Estefania among the comers. Worse, nobody wearing the sash of Ecuador was checking in at F1 Premier Hotel.
News quickly spread that a new Miss Earth Ecuador is coming in the person of Tatiana Torres. Perhaps, everything was hastily arranged for her due to the last-minute backing out of Estefania and the quick preparations. The flight from Quito to Manila is no joke, especially if the traveler wasn’t pre-conditioned to the same. So if only for that, I would say ‘kudos, Tatiana!’ for taking the reins of representing her country in the pageant.
Even if she came in late, Tatiana has been trying her best to make up for lost time. I sincerely hope that she hasn’t given up on her chances after missing a lot of the activities during the first 7 days. She may not be as crazy beautiful as Estefania but who knows what fate has in store for her. Everything happens for a reason, after all.
Since it’s already the start of November and the contenders should start pouring in the country around these days, I decided to post a video showing the beautiful delegates who comprise my Pre-Arrival Favorites for Miss Earth 2012. Do keep in mind that this selection is purely based on online sources. At any rate, will the same ladies remain on top of my scoresheet come Finals Night on November 24? It all depends on how they will present themselves all throughout their stay in Manila. So many things can happen between now and then, so the list is very likely to still have some changes.
Please play the video below:
Top tier (from top left, clockwise: Natalia Pereverzeva of Russia, Prachi Mishra of India, Osmariel Villalobos of Venezuela, Camila Brant of Brazil, Braxis Alvarez of Nicaragua, Ilknur Melis Durasi of Turkey, Tereza Fajksova of Czech Republic and Fabiana Granados of Costa Rica.)
2nd tier (from top left, clockwise: Tamerin Jardine of South Africa, Estefania Realpe of Ecuador, Darli Pacheco of Puerto Rico, Svetlana Raschupkina of Kazakhstan, Brooke Maria Sherman of Bahamas, Esther Cheyanne Foss of Fiji, Jenna Seymour of Australia and Warrathaya Wongchayaporn of Thailand.)
No need to make explanations at this point. I just want to compare notes with you, dear readers, on which girls excite you so far. 😉
P.S. The 30-minute video above could no longer accommodate my 15th and 16th ladies (Esther Foss of Fiji and Brooke Sherman of Bahamas) due to account limitations. So I decided to post their photo grids. 🙂
Miss Earth Ecuador 2012 Estefania Realpe
Competing in a pageant where the reigning titleholder is from the same country being represented adds unnecessary pressure to an already stressful overseas assignment. But Estefania Realpe is not about to be sidetracked. She is Miss Earth Ecuador and the successor of Olga Alava who won the national title last year and went on to claim Miss Earth 2011.
The 22 year-old Social Communication student – who stands 5’8″ – is a head-turner alright, encantador or charming as well. As her country’s current Earth ambassadress, Estefania took part in an international tourism campaign aptly tag-lined “Ecuador Loves Life” which focuses on Ecuadorian culture and natural biodiversity.
I’m pretty sure Olga continuously gives Estefania advice on how to handle the demands of the beauty contest in Manila. And why not? The former has both of her feet inside the doors of Carousel Productions, armed with precious infos that could sharpen the latter’s edge in the weeks ahead.
A worthy follow-up to last year's Olga Alava, I must say.
For now, let’s wait and see if a back-to-back win for Ecuador is even remotely possible. It has never happened before to any past Miss Earth winner. 😉
