I have just finished watching Episode 1 of the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 #RingLightSeries late last night.
This is not a mere pageant or show or spectator event for people to be entertained. This is a process of molding #phenomenalwomen into future leaders, movers, shakers and tentpole strategists. Now I can clearly understand the rationale behind the catchphrases:
If this is the feeling I get from the first episode, then I am so looking forward to the next ones!
This is #MissUniversePhilippines.
Below is the Episode 1 trailer. Head on over to empire.ph to subscribe and watch the entire thing.
There are more than 100 languages in the Philippines. For the first time, a national pageant is allowing contenders to express themselves in their own languages, even in interviews, speeches and Q&A. Interpreters and subtitles will be provided.
Miss Universe Philippines’ Ring Light first episode : LIGHTS ON, will start on Sunday, September 27 on http://www.empire.ph

Starting this year, Miss Universe Singapore (MUS) is taking on a classier and more competitive look and appeal with the entrance of Jonas Gaffud and Empire.ph – in partnership with Beauté Hub – in the relative overhaul of the biggest national pageant in the Lion City. And boy, the finalists this year are carefully selected and screened to make up eleven (11) versions of the new Singaporean woman – smart, beautiful, empowered and very global.
Check out the individual videos of the ladies. I’m sure you’ll agree with me that they are miles ahead of almost all previous MUS titleholders combined.
Who are you liking among them, dear readers?
I’m beginning to be pleased with Cheryl, Laranya, Bernadette, Annika and Mohana.
