Posted @withregram • @emmanuellevera As someone who has struggled with a severe case of ADHD her entire life, and all the ensuing problems including acute anxiety, depression, and a decade-long eating disorder, I care deeply about mental health. I have dealt with people labeling my untreated condition as difficult and impossible since childhood, and ignorantly chalking behavioral issues up to being a bad person. The repercussions caused me to hurt not only myself, but the people I love. Since I received my second diagnosis, which I pursued as an adult, and subsequent treatment, my life immediately changed. I delved deep into education about my condition and the repercussions thereof, and was relieved to know that I was not beyond cure. Education became my emancipator, and now that I’m in the latter stages of my healing journey, I hope to similarly help set mental illness captives free.
Despite the remarkable progress I’m proud to have made, the greatest challenge I continue to face is living with my condition. Although, with the help of my support system and faith, I’ve made tremendous headway, I still find myself battling symptoms, hurdles, breakdowns and daily struggles that remind me that mental health is real, it’s palpable, it’s pervasive, and it requires utmost care and attention. It’s an uphill battle, but it’s one I’m determined to win.
Untreated mental illnesses are dangerous and destructive; bringing them to light deprives them of their power. Seeking help and treatment are NOT signs of weakness—they will be your fortification. We’re in this together. 🫶🏽
Thank you, @byscosmetics_ph & @vanialtomonte for giving me the opportunity to share a bit of my story, and hopefully touch lives. #BreakYourStigma

During a recent zoom interview with the Executive Producer of #TikTalks on TV5, I made mention of the fact that the Philippines is already saturated with beauty pageants. For 2023, we have at least seven (7) nationally/internationally recognized competitions for female aspirants, not to mention the lesser-known ones plus those that cater to males, married women and teens. Among the seven, two are spin-off pageants that will separately stage their dedicated finals. One of them is Miss Supranational Philippines where the subject of this blog entry is said to be interested in joining.
We all know Emmanuelle Vera – our Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2021 who went on to place 3rd Runner-Up in Bolivia for Reina Hispanoamericana 2021. Sources are telling me that she is mulling over a second attempt in national pageantry via Miss Supranational Philippines 2023. Why not? This woman, in my opinion, is capable of taking on the demands of the annual Festival of Beauty in Poland. After experiencing the pressure of having to compete internationally amidst a sea of Latinas, she may already know what will make her supra-tick.
If everything goes perfectly, then Emman might just see herself preparing for a trip to Nowy Sącz in Southern Poland.
Good luck, my dear!
Of course if you go by her surname, the connection won’t be instant. But Danielle Camcam is the younger sister of Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2021 Emmanuelle Vera (screen name of Emmanuelle Camcam).
I will give the space to Dani with an intro about herself:
“I graduated from De LaSalle University with a degree in Psychology, and was a consistent deans lister. After graduating I dabbled in Marketing for a real estate company for 1 year and had two people working under me; but my big dream was always farming. I quit my job in 2021 and decided to start traveling around the Philippines and parts of the US.
One thing i found consistent wherever i went was the importance of agriculture; especially during the pandemic, i saw how food supply had become something everyone was worried about. We saw food shortages in groceries, and the scarcity of crops. This 2022, I put my leisure travels on pause and went back to my roots: Amulung, Cagayan. I had bought land and began my farming journey.
It is farmers who are the backbone of our society. It is farmers who are the very core of our economy. It is farmers who give us life.
With 42% of Philippine land being agricultural land; why is it that we are not giving more importance to the people who actually know how to cultivate it and better our nation?
Today i stand before you, representing the underserved, the neglected, the reason why we have life: I represent our farmers… The people who truly have the power to shake the universe.
Her application video is below.
This year wasn’t the best for Philippine pageantry internationally, but not the worst either. It’s middling around the average range and pushing higher than 2019 and significantly compared to 2020. Keep in mind that I included only the competitions that I blogged about.

If I missed anyone worth including/following, please reply in the comment section below. I’m just too happy that international pageantry has slowly stepped out of its lockdown shell. Hopefully, it will be so much better in 2022, omicron variant notwithstanding.
PS Samantha Bernardo’s 1st Runner-Up placement in MGI2020 should also be included above.
My bad.

Earlier in the day at the brand-new Kingsford Hotel Manila in Bayshore City, Miss World Philippines 2021 Tracy Maureen Perez was given her proper sendoff to Miss World 2021 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It was such a well-attended event that the hotel officials were very pleased with the turnout of guests.
National Director Arnold Vegafria was around to send his warm wishes to Tracy, as well as sister-queens Dindi Pajares, Kathleen Paton, Emmanuelle Vera, Trisha Martinez, Tatyana Alexis Austria and Riana Pangindian. Her team Cebu from Origin Management was also complete – led by Sven Chua and Fashion Designer Axel Que who will make her National Costume.
Tracy’s heart is full with all the positive words of encouragement from people she loves the most.
