It was just three days, but the Bb. Pilipinas 2014 Official Candidates grew so close to each other during the shoot in Montemar Beach Club Resort in Bagac, Bataan. As what Binibini 31 Angelique de Leon stated, a sisterhood was formed among them. No beauty camps to worry of and no intrigues to pay attention to.
And just like Binibini 7 Aiza Faeldonia who took all these happy photos of bonding and togetherness, she also got to become more than chummy with the ladies. She was particularly more affectionate with the likes of Binibini 21 Racquel Kabigting and Binibini 18 Ellore Punzalan, but over-all, everyone got to be more sisterly with one another.
Now that the ladies are back in Manila, the pressure of the competition has resumed. But the quality time spent on the beach surely worked wonders for their camaraderie and cooperation. It’s still a “may-the-best-girls-win” kind of thing. But something more heartfelt and sincere. 🙂
P.S. Many thanks to Yo Aries for sharing Aiza’s pics with your blogger. 😉

No matter how many times I scroll through all the National Costumes worn by the Bb. Pilipinas 2014 Official Candidates last night, I keep on coming back to what Binibini 18 Ellore Punzalan modeled onstage. Both traditional and sexy, the whole ensemble makes me look at her waistline (and abs) over and over again, and how it is complemented by the midriff top and shapely skirt.
Maybe it’s just me. Or maybe, most of you find it so hypnotizing as well. 😉
Now, after the Table of Six post, allow me to milk the theme for all its worth. Gaze your eyes at the picture of six (6) Bb. Pilipinas 2014 Official Candidates posing with one of JAC Motors’ forklifts. The ladies are (left to right) Binibini 20 Kenneth Santiago, Binibini 21 Racquel Kabigting, Binibini 18 Ellore Punzalan, Binibini 17 Diana Arevalo, Binibini 22 Bianca Guidotti and Binibini 19 Mae Liezel Ramos. If you are left with them as the only remaining options to select winners from, how will you distribute the titles?
Personally, my crowned beauties will be 22, 17, 19 and 20 with runners-up being 21 and 18. 😉
Binibini 18 Ellore Punzalan knows that she possesses one of the best bodies in the competition. But how far will that bring her to the top? During Bb. Pilipinas Gold, she was so pleased after making the cut to the Top 15. Her return this year, though, throws in a heavier weight on her shoulders as her fellow candidates have extremely upped the ante. And being independent and all is not exactly the surest way of getting a spot in the magic circle. Undaunted as she is, there simply is no reason to give up and just go through the motions of everything. After all, why let down her fighting spirit now that she is on her final foray in the nationals? 🙂

I’m always fascinated with unusual names. From Abraxas to Zola, I tend to remember the name-bearer more easily than someone who is called Ana or Lorna or Fe.
In comes Ednornance Agustin and Ellore Punzalan for Bb. Pilipinas 2014. Not only are they the most uniquely-called candidates, they separately answer to first names that make it hard for the hearer to decipher the origins of such. Be that as it may, they share two things in common with the thirty-eight (38) other contenders – shapely bodies and pretty faces. In fact, I believe they are two of the sexiest comers in this batch.
So it is inevitable that we make a side-by-side comparison of Eds and Ellore. Setting aside what we already know about them so far, what are their chances of stealing the spotlight from the early favorites? For one, the former is actually gaining a lot of good ground in the assessment of many pageant watchers. This dusky 5’9″ beauty from Davao is a stunner with skin that calls very light chocolate to the eyes. And the latter? Well, she went as far as making it to the Top 15 of Bb. Pilipinas 2013. Can she turn on the heat factor this year and do better than the last? My take is that she has the tendency to overdo her preparation – be it for styling or Q&A. If she wants to take it farther, then the need to improve on her presentation and communication skills is a must.
At this juncture, I can easily put Eds on top of Ellore. How about you? 🙂
There are seven (7) repeaters who applied for Bb. Pilipinas 2014. Two from A&Q, four from KF and one independent. Each one of them experienced varied levels of success (or non-success) in their previous outings.
Pia Wurtzbach placed 1st Runner-Up last year.
Parul Shah and Ellore Punzalan made it to the Top 15 last year.
MJ Lastimosa placed 2nd Runner-Up last 2011, but only the Top 12 in 2012.
Diana Arevalo reached Top 10 in 2009 and Top 15 in the 2011 edition.
Hannah Ruth Sison (2013) and Ladylyn Riva (2011) were both unplaced.
Are seven slots guaranteed for all of them?
Or will there be a sacrificial lamb or two in the end?
What’s your take on their fate? 🙂
I would also come up with forty (40) Official Candidates (as reported) for Bb. Pilipinas 2014. Truthfully, it was difficult easing out a few more of the remaining ladies in the Top 61. But in random grids, my personal choices are:
The names of my picks to become the Official Candidates of Bb. Pilipinas 2014 are:

R-L Angels – 2 (Two)
Independents – 4 (Four)
Regardless of pageant affiliations, our beautiful Filipinas who either won national crowns or placed in the same (including those who were candidates) gathered together for last Sunday’s Charity Fashion Gala at the Grand Ballroom of Ace Hotel & Suites. They walked the ramp and in the process, helped raise funds for the ST Yolanda victims.
Kudos to Team JDV’s John dela Vega – who was at the helm of the event – as he was able to pull together these ladies from various organizations such as Bb. Pilipinas Charities Inc., Miss Earth Foundation, Miss World Philippines and Mutya ng Pilipinas Quest Inc.
