For a change, let’s think of love and food for V Day, incredibly sweet tooth included.
Happy Hearts Day, dear readers!
Have you made plans with your someone special for tonight? Or are you one of those still-eligibly mingling and would rather do a group night-out with equally unattached allies?
Regardless of your status, let’s fill this day with yummy food and sweet desserts. After all, eating a good meal is almost always a certainty before or after romantic interludes.
And my favorite Irish Chef Donal Skehan is back with a heartwarming chocolate tart he prepared especially for Valentine’s Day.

Now, since we love food just as much as beautiful women, here is the video of the Miss Universe Soul of Cooking Contest (presented by Badia Spices) which took place in Doral Miami last month:

It may be hotter in the Philippines, but the breezy temperature outside during December is enough to make me want everyday to feel like Christmas. And since it’s now officially the 25th of the 12th month where I live, allow me to greet everyone the Merriest of Christmases.
Miss Earth 2014 Jamie Herrell bringing some Christmas fun to the kids.
This year may not have measured up to our glorious 2013 in pageantry, but there will always be good reasons to smile and look forward to in the very near future. Next month, perhaps?
In the meantime, I will share a wonderfully feel-good music video of the adaptation of a love-filled Christmas song as sung by two of my favorites, Idina Menzel and Michael Bublé.

And since Christmas is also about food both calorie-ful and savory, here’s a video of Donal Skehan – my guilty pleasure of an Irish Chef – preparing a yuletide treat for your sweet tooth.

Enjoy the Holidays! 😀
The Atelier Versace sketch of Angelina’s wedding gown
On the cover of People Magazine
Who doesn’t like getting that intimate wedding at Château Miraval
in the South of France?
I would. In a heartbeat. But only if he is either a Thai-Belgian actor like Chaiyapol “New” Poupart or an Irish food writer like Donal Skehan. 😉
Seriously now, the Atelier Versace gown Angelina Jolie wore in her secret wedding with Brad Pitt is absolutely divine. For me, simplicity is an effortless standout. There is always something positive to be said about a creation that doesn’t take away too much from the natural beauty of the wearer.
While that may not be followed in the world of pageantry as a rule, there will always be that one delegate whose minimalist formal attires will take our breath away.
Personally, one of my all-time favorites is the Francis Libiran gown Megan Young wore in Bali when she was crowned Miss World 2013. That coral pink number may not be anyone’s idea of a showstopper, but it certainly helped make our Queen become the most outstanding belle of the night.
Can you name me your idea of simple elegance, dear readers? 🙂
