Thank you, Frontrow Philippines for gathering the three Miss Universe titleholders for their Holiday Tour here and for making the country the first overseas stop of the new Queen – Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters – for her reign. Thank you as well to the Department of Tourism – Philippines for showing the ladies our scenic wonders.

Sunday Specials Photo Blog: Miss Universe and the DOT’s #BringHomeAFriend Campaign

The ladies were broken into three groups of varying sizes. Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters and Miss Great Britain Anna Maria Burdzy flew to Batanes. Miss Philippines Rachel Peters brought Miss Malaysia Samantha Katie James and Miss Russia Ksenia Alexandrova to Bohol. Everyone else trooped to the island of Camiguin. Altogether, they contributed to the #BringHomeAFriend campaign of the Department of Tourism Philippines as part of their Holiday Tour in the Philippines.

And these ladies surely enjoyed their respective out-of-town trips to the max.

After the finish of the tour, Rachel will bring a few of the ladies to her own brand of Siargao where Bake (her bar/coffeeshop business) is located.

A Miss Universe Welcome Dinner & A Birthday Treat for Paula Shugart

Last night at the Eclipse Bar of Solaire Resort and Casino, the Welcome Dinner for Miss Universe titleholders Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters and Iris Mittenaere – plus the thirteen national titleholders who took part in Miss Universe 2017 – was held with selected guests and members of the media in attendance. It was quite the relaxed get-together where most everyone got the chance to have photos taken with the ladies and do some small talks in the process.

It was also the birthday of Miss Universe Organization President Paula Shugart and the three titleholders – Pia, Iris and Demi-Leigh – LED everyone in singing her a Happy Birthday song (watch video below).

Tonight, an invitational fashion show – as organized by Frontrow International with RS Francisco and Sam Verzosa at the held – will be held at the Grand Ballroom of Solaire where the visiting guests will walk the runway wearing creations of different local designers. And tomorrow, they will start enjoying the different tourist spots in the Philippines from Batanes to Vigan to CamSur and Boracay, all the way to Siargao. I hope they can keep up with the hectic but enjoyable trips!

The Department of Tourism's campaign for 2015

Aside from the Papal Visit in January, 2015, there are more reasons to check out the Philippines next year.

By now, you must have already watched the new video of the Department of Tourism Philippines above. 2015 is the best time to visit the country because a lot of things will be happening right from the start. So consider this post my small pitch in helping entice more tourists and balikbayans to schedule their next trip to the Philippines.

Aside from the much-awaited Papal Visit happening in mid-January, there are several festivals to be celebrated all year-round and in grander scales at that. Of course, our world-renowned beaches and diving spots remain as the default destinations of most everyone. But there is still much more on offer – from the urban shopping jungles of the city to the lush greeneries of hidden paradise locations all the way to the sparkling waters of Boracay, Palawan and Caramoan.

And may I remind you that, aside from being the country with the longest observance of Christmas in the world, something exciting might just take place towards the homestretch of the coming year. While still unconfirmed, the proposed hosting of Miss Universe 2015 in Manila will definitely lure a lot if all things fall into place.

So what are you waiting for? Start planning your visit to the Philippines in 2015. It’s all going to be worth it, I assure you. 😀

The new campaign of the Philippines’ Department of Tourism has just been launched to the public this morning.

I can’t help but be excited with the whole concept. I know a few of the wonderful people behind the creative team that conceptualized and brought to life the new campaign. And with Secretary Ramon Jimenez at the helm, how can it go wrong?
