Here are photos of the reuniting Miss Universe 2014 beauties when they stayed at the vacation-worthy paradise in Panglao, Alona Tropical Beach Resort. The ladies were extended the warmest welcome and hospitality led by its ever-reliable Deo Guden who really prepared for their much-anticipated visit.

misspanglao2014 Just when everyone thought that the uncooperative rains will force the organizers to cancel last night’s Miss Panglao 2014 and move everything to another day, the non-stop drizzles grinded to a halt and allowed the event to start at 10PM (from the original 8PM.

For a municipality-wide beauty contest, this one is well-thought of and executed, complete with sponsors in all aspects of pre-pageant activities leading up to the finals. And given the line-up of judges alone, the presence of national beauty titleholders Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2014 Kris Tiffany Janson, Miss Philippines Earth 2014 Jamie Herrell and Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia-Pacific International 2014 Eva Patalinjug was enough to make people sit up and take notice of the whole proceedings. Of course, if you add my presence, the added glitter can’t be denied (wink, wink).

There was also some entertainment provided by upcoming ABS-CBN hottie Dominic Roque (of ‘Moon of Desire’ fame) who serenaded the candidates and charmed the big crowd of watchers.

And the winner of Miss Panglao 2014? A clear victor in the eyes of the judges. She may not be the most gorgeous, but her smart mind and articulate communication skills are definitely perfect for the demands of being a youth spokesperson for the island. Charmaine Ness Sagaral unquestionably deserves to be named #1.

All in all, it was a worthwhile judging experience for me. I’m looking forward to being invited again in future editions. Many thanks to the very accommodating/hospitable Mayor Nila Montero, Pageant Founder Aya Montero, Pageant Director Deo Guden and Bohol Pageant/Lifestyle Blogger Raul Gatal who made it all happen for me.

Off to judge Miss Panglao 2014

misspanglao2014 This afternoon, I will be flying to Panglao Island (via Tagbilaran City) to fulfill my first out-of-town (or out-of-Luzon, if you will) invitation to judge Miss Panglao 2014 which will hold its finals August 25 (that would be tomorrow night).

Upon the invitation of the Hon. Panglao Mayor Leonila Montero, Miss Panglao 2014 Chairperson Deo Guden and Pageant Blogger Raul Gatal, I am looking forward to experiencing the famed hospitality of the Boholanos (and Panglaoanons in particular) and touring around the beautiful sights before finally buckling down to the business of choosing the successor of last year’s Catherine Tabaniag.

panglao1 Of course, it goes without saying that I will be blogging straight from the island. So if some unexpected delays in posting happen along the way, please don’t blame the slow wi-fi or data connection. It will be me waking up later than usual or feeling lazy.
