As exclusively covered by normannorman.com earlier, the Binibinis of Bb. Pilipinas 2018 had their annual Sponsor Visit at David’s Salon Headquarters in Makati City with Owner/CEO Sir David Charlton and the entire Head Office Personnel who warmly welcomed everyone.
A Holy Mass started it all at 10am to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the DSI Building, followed by a short program. Everyone was brought to the Penthouse where lunch was served courtesy of Union Jack Tavern. Immediately after, there were photo ops with all the employees before the traditional pampering of all the ladies which included back massages, foot spa/reflexology and mani/pedi/nail gel services that really relaxed our beauties.
Here are photos from the said activity.
Binibinis 1-40 strike their best pose for Photographer Raymond Saldaña in these official shots for Bb. Pilipinas 2018. Who are your favorites in these photos?
Tell me after you have reviewed all of them, dear readers!

Now I am not one to pry into private details about Maine’s current whereabouts. If she wants to keep her personal life from a safe distance, then I respect that choice. It’s just that she has not yet joined the titleholders in any of our covered public appearances and inquisitive individuals never stopped asking me. It’s good that 2nd Runner-Up Kristel Guelos already did during the victory lunch hosted by David’s Salon. But I am really missing her a lot.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that she accompanies the Queens during the scheduled visit to the wounded soldiers from the Marawi City crisis this week. That would be a good opportunity to show up – short hair and all – for everyone at BPCI so that the cast will be complete. 🙂
And now that Rachel will soon start her intensive trainings for the 66th Miss Universe, I am sure that regular updates will be forthcoming. In a very recent interview with interaksyon.com, she was quoted as saying, “This June work starts again for me. There are many aspects to beauty pageant training. There’s the Pasarela, which is walking training. There’s fitness, Q&A, hair and make-up; so it’s gonna be exactly what I’ve been doing, but more intense…”
So be ready for our bet once she digs deep into her preparations. She did confess that her waistline at the moment is bordering on 27″, but that can be easily trimmed to an ideal 24″-25″ in no time at all. 😉
When Bb. Pilipinas International 2015 Janicel Lubina, Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2014 Yvethe Santiago, Bb. Pilipinas 2014 1st Runner-Up Laura Lehmann and Bb. Pilipinas 2015 1st Runner-Up Hannah Ruth Sison were brought by David’s Salon for their first overseas hair fashion shoot in the Affinage Australia HQs in Brisbane, little did they know about the actual difficulty levels of the project they signed up for.
In particular, Laura (according to David’s Salon Marketing Manager Lotte Villarosa-Agraviador) underwent the most complex (and cry-worthy) hair transformation as it took practically the whole day to achieve what the brand has assigned for her final look. I was also told that any hair care professional-wannabe cannot single-handedly do what a team of professionals toiled over. Hannah had the easiest procedure because the two-colored braids were not as complicated to accomplish. Yvethe had a relatively trying time as well but not to the point of almost wearing her out. Lastly, Janicel looked like she had the hardest-to-achieve hair, but it actually was not as demanding as the rest.
So now, may I present to you the Mermaid Hair Collection of David’s Salon in cooperation with Affinage Australia.
If you’re game enough, try booking an appointment at one of the flagship branches of David’s Salon to get the mermaid look and stand out wherever you go. 😉
We already know that Kristel is a licensed dental practitioner running her own clinic in Tanauan. But I just learned that she also holds clinic somewhere in Bicutan (Taguig) during specific days of the week. This makes her working week full most of the time, aside from fitting in the intermittent personal appearance requirements of BPCI as one of two runners-up.
See you in the next event, Kristel! 🙂
Photo ops followed with everyone as loot bags (courtesy of David’s Salon and Union Jack Tavern) were also given away as take-home gifts.

Tonight, six (6) of you will bring home the Bb. Pilipinas 2017 crowns, with two (2) runners-up separately flanking both sides. My fervent wish is – to whoever among you will be destined to win – please remain just the way you are. As Confucius says, “Humility is the solid foundation of all virtues”. Use this as the core value of your reign so that you won’t change. Value every individual along the way to success and embrace the victory with kindness in your hearts. Ralph W. Sockman puts it very clearly:
True humility is intelligent self-respect which keeps us from thinking too highly or too meanly of ourselves. It makes us modest by reminding us how far we have come short of what we can be.
Congratulations in advance to the new Queens!

Hair and Make-Up consultations were also made with the assigned stylists for each Binibini and were given experimental approaches as to what facial applications best suit them. And to cap everything off, David’s Salon owner David Charlton dropped by to have group photos with the ladies and even brought them easter egg chocolates which came all the way from London.
It was fun all throughout, especially for your blogger who really took the opportunity to spend quality time talking to almost everyone. I can now safely say that this is a 99% cool batch of ladies who have the right attitude and personalities to compete for the crowns at stake. Why did I say 99%? Well, you do the math. No batch is uber perfect since there will always be an odd one out in terms of chemistry with everyone. I won’t name a name anymore since she is just one different apple in terms of character and disposition. Who knows, she might still improve her ways and turn out good in less than two weeks’ time.Allow me also to point out the quality bonding I spent with random Binibinis. I say random because I caught them by their lonesome at given moments and the initial pleasantries turned into more meaningful chats in the process. Big shoutout to #Binibini2 Arienne Calingo, #Binibini19 Rachel Peters, #Binibini20 Christa Borja, #Binibini21 Jamaica Ambal, #Binibini23 Arah Salientes, #Binibini31 Katarina Rodriguez, #Binibini32 Charmaine Elima, #Binibini33 Istie Cequeña, #Binibini37 Sammie Anne Legaspi and #Binibini39 Elizabeth Clenci. I loved practically all of them, though!
