With the Official Statement from Harlijk Mirasol of Harlijk Productions (please read below) giving way to Miss World Philippines Organization in sending a Philippine delegate to Miss Eco Teen in Hurghada, Egypt, Danielle Isabelle Dolk (who holds dual citizenship 🇵🇭 🇳🇱) will now represent the Netherlands in the international competition.
On the other hand, Roberta Ann “Ro-An” Tamondong will now be the handpicked Miss Eco Teen Philippines by MWPO to wear the country’s sash in the same pageant. Pending an official announcement from the organization, she will need to apply for and secure a Tourist Visa to Egypt as soon as possible so she can fly to the host city by November 25.
I am optimistic that everything will be finalized in time – or the nick of time if you will. It will be nice to see two Lagunenses taking part in #MissEcoTeen2020.
OFFICIAL STATEMENT
November 17, 2020
Harlijk Productions is the official franchise holder of Miss Eco & Miss Eco Teen titles for Canada, and several other titles for the Philippines. In preparation for the upcoming Miss Eco Teen International Finals, we were asked casually by the organization if it was possible for us to send a Philippine delegate just for this year since the current Philippine license holder would not be able to send a delegate because of the recent typhoon that has devastated the nation. We were assured there would be no issue with the organization. As a pageant fanatic, an international competition is not as exciting to follow without a Philippine candidate, so we submitted a delegate that the Teen Eco Organization formally accepted and announced on their social media platforms.
In the past 24 hours, 3 days after our candidate was announced as Miss Eco Teen International Philippines, the Philippine license holder apparently had a change of heart and decided they will send a delegate. To avoid dragging the issue into something that it should not be, while we have the Teen Eco Organization’s early approval to send Philippines as made evident by their numerous social media posts between November 13 to 16, 2020, we have decided to step back and allow a new Miss Eco Teen Philippines to compete. We do not wish to make this an ugly mess because it is not. We participate in pageants with the primary goal of showcasing the best qualities of the Filipinos and of our empowered young women.
In light of these recent developments, DANIELLE ISABELLE DOLK will still be heading to Hurghada, Egypt, to compete in the Miss Eco Teen International 2020. Danielle is a dual citizen and also holds a Dutch passport. She will wear the Netherlands sash in the competition while still showcasing on a global stage the beauty, charm, intelligence, and passion that makes a Filipina shine, and the diversity and multi-culturalism that is innate in her as a Filipina-Dutch woman. She has the unwavering support of her team and our group. This is a win-win scenario for everyone and we hope this settles the matter peacefully.
We ask everyone – pageant fans, media, supporters, family, and friends to continue to support Danielle and all the ladies competing in the pageant. Thank you and have an amazing week ahead.
Mabuhay po tayong lahat!
DR. HARLIJK MIRASOL
